He loves the Irish because Ireland has always exported poets and artists and clergy, but not armies. He is proud that Ireland has never invaded anyone.

A replica of the jacket worn by the Irish patriot Thomas Meagher will be presented by members of New York City’s 69th Infantry Regiment, who are traveling to Waterford as part of the 1848 Tricolour Celebration.
