Two days after the death of James Joyce in 1941, a death mask of the novelist was made, and now it is on display for the first time to mark this year’s Bloomsday celebrations.

Celebrating Bloomsday in New York City, Symphony Space and Irish Arts Center will present music and performance at Symphony Space on Saturday.

Saint Patricks Day (March 17) is to the Spring Equinox, what Leopold Bloomsday's (June 16) Day is to the Summer Solstice.

James Joyce could hardly have imagined the extraordinary popularity of his novel Ulysses which will be celebrated throughout the world this 16th June.

The Irish Writers’ Centre in Dublin, Ireland is gearing up to shatter a Guinness World Record culminating on June 16th, also known as Bloomsday. The Centre is looking to break the record for ‘Most Authors Reading Consecutively From Their Own Books’ over a 28 hour period from June 15th - June 16th.

Strict restrictions on James Joyce's Ulysses by Joyce's Paris-based grandson Stephen Joyce are finally being lifted.

Over 100 Broadway stars and avid Joyceans will gather at Symphony Space, on Broadway, to read portions of the modernist masterpiece, James Joyce’s “Ulysses” which celebrates life, love, literature, language and lust.

When I was young, my father’s oft repeated favorite riddle was: What is the richest country in the world? The first time he quizzed me, I wracked my brain and offered a few feeble guesses. When he could contain his mirth no longer, with a grin, a twinkle, and a nudge to my ribs he chuckled: “Ireland, of course! Because its capital is always doublin’!!”

As it did 80 years ago, James Joyces “Ulysses” has being causing a commotion due to its obscene nature. This time round however it is a graphic novel version of the story by Throwaway Horse, called “Ulysses Seen”, that had been censored.
