Notre Dame’s comeback upset win over Marquette from Thursday’s Big East quarterfinal may be outshined by what seems to be McDonald’s sponsored jerseys. The Notre Dame basketball team surprised fans with their new alternate jerseys' resemblance to McDonald’s Shamrock Shake.  The lime green uniforms were questioned by most and even sparked discussions of the worst jerseys of all time. 

Every year at the start of March Shamrock Shake fans rejoice as this minty milkshake returns to McDonald’s, but not many people know, or remember why this St. Patrick’s Day treat was launched back in 1966.

The cult-like following of McDonald’s seasonal ‘Shamrock Shake’ will be rather pleased to hear that for the first time ever, the shake will be offered at every McDonald’s location nationwide. In previous years, the shake was only offered at a select few of the fast-food restaurant’s 14,000 locations.

CNN Money reports that McDonald’s spokeswoman Ashlee Yingling confirmed that the shake will be offered at every McDonald’s location for the first time since its initial release in 1970. The shake is typically released a few weeks prior to St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th.
