There's no doubt that Roma Downey and Mark Burnett’s surprisingly controversial series The Bible is a hit. But now the a big-screen cut of the History Channel's runaway hit miniseries The Bible is set to transform the ten hour series into a three-hour movie, executive producer Mark Burnett told The Hollywood Reporter this week.

"The £295 million couple you’ve never heard of” blared a headline in the Daily Mail a few days ago.  Well, perhaps Roma Downey and Mark Burnett fly under the radar in Britain, but over here they’re TV titans thanks to the smashing success of their just concluded History Channel miniseries The Bible – not to mention Burnett’s other creations such as Survivor, The Voice and Shark Tank.

This week Roma Downey, the Derry-born actress most famous for her highly successful 10-year stint in the CBS series Touched by an Angel, is launching a new animated DVD for children called Little Angels.

Roma Downey, the Derry-born actress who garnered fame and fortune back in the 1990s with the CBS TV series Touched by an Angel, has been relatively quiet these past few years, though her life has hardly been lived out of the spotlight thanks to her marriage to the uber-reality TV producer Mark Burnett.

Hard to believe that “Touched by an Angel” star Roma Downey hasn’t been on our TV screens in five years. The Derry-born star of the popular, uplifting series is ready to make her return to the acting world, though, and fans won’t have to wait long – she’ll star in a new Hallmark Channel original movie, “Come Dance at My Wedding,” which frist aired Saturday, June 6 and airs again on Sunday at 9 p.m.
