The big move from New York to Ireland finally over, APRIL DREW and her family couldn’t he happier.  She provides details on her action packed first week back, which has included lots of Irish sunshine.

Hello Ireland. We missed you dearly. Nine years is a long time to be away from you. 

It’s bittersweet, people keep telling me. And it is. The excitement levels are rising rapidly but so is that horrible nauseous feeling.

An adventure on his own outside nearly turned to disaster for baby Colum, but his mom April Drew turned out to be more hurt than he was.  April also writes about the family’s last weeks in New York as they await the move to Ireland.

New York’s Irish community is shell-shocked over the sudden death of one of our own, 12-year-old Rory Staunton, and as April Drew writes, the young angel was beautifully memorialized by his friends and family in Queens last week.

Where is the time going? Four weeks ago I gave birth to our daughter, Sadie Mooney, and in less than nine weeks Sadie, her 15-month-old brother Colum, my husband John and I will be settling into a new life in Ireland.

It's a girl! Sadie Elizabeth Mooney was born at 8:23 a.m. on a beautiful, sunny New York morning on Monday, February 20. She weighed in at seven pounds, nine ounces and was 20 inches long. We are truly blessed yet again. A fine and healthy little lass. She came out, via Cesarean, wiggling and screeching, a beautiful sound for her parents to hear.

The Irish American community never misses the chance to help one  of its own in need, a fact especially true last month when a benefit was held for a Kerryman who lost his leg in a motorcycle accident. APRIL DREW, one of the organizers, said the event for PJ Flavin proved to be a proud day for the Irish.

As APRIL DREW enters the homestretch of her second pregnancy, she’s finding herself in embarrassing situations, but still watching with joy as her baby son Colum continues to grow.

Happy New Year. Where did 2011 go? Now that 2012 has arrived in full swing, plans are quickly taking shape for our big move home in May.

Welcome Wagon at the Airport

Halloween has come and gone. It was a strange one this year.

“What would you like to drink?” asked my husband on a recent night out.

I don't know how many more airport trips I can do -- the return ones I mean.

It's that time of the year again.  Fall isn’t far off, summer vacations are coming to an end and the kids are gearing up for a new school year.

The summer has gotten the best of new mommy APRIL DREW, who’s beating the heat with a series of crazy dreams that have her questioning her sanity!

Being a new mother can be overwhelming at the best of times, with little time to spare for old pastimes like manicures and shopping, as APRIL DREW, together with her back and feet, is finding out.

Life in New York is great, but raising a child with the love and support of family back in Ireland is starting to take its toll on APRIL DREW.

Babies have a way of surprising you at inopportune times, as new mom APRIL DREW is discovering – be it with smiles at four in the morning, or an unexpected delivery at an Easter dinner party.

Living so far away from home is easier for APRIL DREW and her family because of Skype on the computer, but nothing beats a real embrace, as April, her mother and baby Colum discovered after a very special visit last week.
