As Bloomsday, the day on which Leopold Bloom took his famous journey through Dublin in James Joyce’s novel “Ulysses” approaches on June 16, Joyce fans get ready to celebrate one of Ireland’s most famous authors. Joyce is celebrated for his wit, use of stream of consciousness, and challenging what a novel can be and do.

The only known audio recording of James Joyce reading from Ulysses is to be auctioned at Sotheby’s in New York in June.

A new graphic novel “James Joyce – Portrait of a Dubliner” explores the literary genius’ life involving his family, friends, travels in Europe and recreation in Dublin, and including the intimate details of his relationship with Nora Barnacle.

Dubin designer Rachel Kerr has come up with a unique way to celebrate this year’s Bloomsday which takes place on Sunday 16 June.
