While there are many Irish made gifts I would love to have bestowed upon me this year - or any year for that fact - the one I would cherish the most is my lovely daughter's boyfriend putting ring on her finger. I would then be moved to buy her an Irish lace wedding hanky from the Irish Shop here in Atlanta.

Hi Oonafitz, not at all you have no idea how much even a single purchase from any of above affects not only families but whole communities, whether they are involved directly in growing, manufacturing, retail, administration, dispatch etc. Every €25 they earn and spend is estimated to be worth €100 in turnover to local suppliers and services.

I was just going to question this. Isn't it only the profits going to the Irish owners, the jobs all being sent out of the country?

Where is Waterford made again? I forget.
