Robbie Keane scores twice in Celtic's 2-0 win over Falkirk

Bookmark and Share

Robbie Keane netted twice for Celtic in their 2-0 win over Falkirk on Sunday, but the Bhoys still languish ten points behind Rangers in the SPL.

Celtic had three Irishmen in the starting eleven (Keane, Darren O'Dea and Aiden McGeady) and in the 34th minute the on-loan Dubliner opened the scoring with a neat finish after being put through on goal by Morten Rasmussen.

Ireland's top goalscorer doubled his tally in the second period when quick thinking from Crosas sent him through on goal. Keane made no mistake with the finish.

Interestingly, manager Tony Mowbray admitted he was going to drop the Irish striker before the game, but I bet he is happy he didn't go with his gut instinct.

"He showed against Brazil the talented boy he is - he's scored a few goals for us - and he showed it again today, taking the two opportunities which came along. Hopefully we can keep him fit,'' said the manager afterwards.

Hope is a great thing, but some divine intervention from St. Jude might be needed if Celtic are to win the SPL this season.

So pleased for "our" Robbie..... But oh how I miss seeing Spurs without him; which would not have happened if his Spurs "teamate" (Def*c*) had not been such a GLORY HUNTER!! Actually, it's a double blow because I don't get S.P.L. games here in Norco Ca. Miss you Robbie, but you always make this Hometowner proud!!
