Robbie Keane may not leave Celtic this summer with any silverware, but he received some recognition for his good goalscoring form for the Bhoys when he was named SPL Player of the Month for March.

However, the prize means little to the Talllaght native, who is still reeling after his team’s shocking loss to Ross County in the cup semifinal on Saturday.

“Everyone’s a bit down. But I’ve been telling the lads it’s important to pick ourselves back up.

“The important thing about football is there is always another game where we can try and put things right.

“We let Neil Lennon down, we let the club down and we let ourselves down.

“As players we have to take responsibility for that. It’s as simple as that,” Keane told Celtic’s website celticfc.net

There may be no medals for the Irish captain, but there are definitely no regrets on his part for making the move north of the border.

“Obviously I wanted to come up here and win something but it wasn’t to be,” he said. “I’m still going to enjoy the remaining time I have here though.

‘I never regret anything I do. You do everything for a reason. At the end of the day I’m playing for a wonderful football club, which I’ve always wanted to do since I was a little kid."
