Padraig Harrington one over par after first round of Northern Trust Open

Padraig Harrington shot a first round one over par 72 Thursday at the Northern Trust Open in Los Angeles.

The 38-year-old triple major winner is eight shots behind leader Dustin Johnson after his first round of the new season.

Harrington made a great start with a birdie at the par 5 first hole, but gave the shot back at the par 3 6th hole.

The Dubliner took advantage of the par 5s with another birdie on the 11th, but two bogeys in the last three holes meant that he finished the day with a one over par 72.
