Munster and Ireland hooker Jerry Flannery has been banned until March 29 for kicking Alexis Palisson during last Saturday’s match against France in the Six Nations.
Though no action was taken on the field during the game, Flannery was cited for the action after the match and an independent panel deemed the challenge reckless and banned the player until the end of March, which means he will miss the remaining Six Nations fixtures against England, Scotland and Wales.
Flannery expressed his remorse over the incident and pleaded guilty to the charge, which was taken into account by the panel when they passed down the suspension.
