Robbie Keane heading back to Wolves?

Harry Redknapp's recent admission that Robbie Keane could be on the move in January has alerted a number of english clubs. Most notably including Keane's first ever English club; Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves' manager Mick McCarthy previously coached Keane during his spell as Ireland manager from 1996-2002.
McCarthy took charge of Wolves in 2006 and has since got them promoted to the Premiership which has enticed him to try and sign such a reputable player as the Irish captain, "He is a fabulous player but I go back to the same thing, is he available, would he want to come to us, can we afford the deal, is it attractive?"
Keane is certainly available as Redknapp has been quoted as saying "Robbie would like to move and he wants to play. But he's not just going to go anywhere, it's got to be a move that he fancies otherwise he'll stay here and fight for his place."
McCarthy worries that Wolves may not be Keane's preferred option and has obviously not had direct contact with the player yet, "Robbie has been a top player and whether a relegation scrap at Wolves is something he would fancy, I don't know."
The deal is far from done and McCarthy points out that, "There are a lot of factors that need to be looked at" but Wolves fans are likely to be excited by the prospect of resigning Keane who scored 29 goals in 87 total appearances for the club from 1997-2000.

he needs to keep working if he's to be useful for Erin's team.

Thats the thing with Robbie, I could see him going to a number of clubs either in the MLS, Aston Villa, Wolves or back to Celtic. Its a very unpredictable situation but he's definitely garnering interest. Thanks, Cian.

There is faint hope out here in Vancouver, BC Canada that he might be a Whitecap for the inaugural MLS season here that starts March 19 vs Toronto FC. His name has been tenuously linked but seems rather unlikely with the money he could earn elsewhere.
