Rees cannot be Notre Dame quarterback, Hendrix, even Golson worth a shot

Tommy Rees's days as quarterback of Notre Dame should be over.
Andrew Hendrix should be the starting quarterback in Dublin on September 1st when the Irish resume against Navy for the 2013 season.
Rees has gone backwards this year and Hendrix has by far the greater potential.
The loss against FSU was unfortunately, predictable.
Turnovers and bad quarterback play cost the Irish a bowl victory and coach Brian Kelly a solid end to a disappointing season.
Rees looked like he might mature into the real deal after last season but he has back pedaled this year. Two interceptions in the end zone proved that when it come to the crunch the kid does not have it.
Hendrix at least can claim that he needed the experience and that he can improve.
Meanwhile freshman Everett Golson may not be a hopeless long shot to line up under center in Dublin.
Kelly excels with a mobile quarterback and Golson has that in spades.
What is clear is that it cannot be Rees. Though a fine young man Notre Dame will win nothing with him at quarterback.
Brian Kelly knows that now.

I have to disagree with O'shea. Rees would be a very good ND QB if not for the sorry coaching from kelly. No one on the sidelines or in the viewing publice who was going to be the QS. Kelly would put one in and that one was trying to get the job done and went for more than he should have. When he came out, kelly jumped all over him..KELLY should have been coaching ONE QB in the three or four weeks they had off before the Bowl. Sorry,Sorry coaching. Kelly needs to find a new gravy train..

Brian Kelly should have given a scholarship to Cody Fajardo, the Servite standout who went to Nevada after being ignored by Notre Dame.

Doesn't make any difference they will still choke.Their bowl record is 15-17 which is very poor. They are not and haven't been a big game team since Lou Holtz. Why is a mediocre team constantly highlighted here?

Crist was the number two rated qb recruit when he came to ND. Rees outperformed him when he went bakcward. Now, Rees goes backward. Hendrix hasn't shown much improvement. There is a pattern. ND needs to find themselves a good qb coach. Kelly can't do it. I'll bet Weiss at KU brings Crist up to snuff. Kelly has done lots of good things. However, it is obvious that he intimidates his qbs. It worked at U Cin but it is failing at ND.

Never have seen a coach with a quarterback d'jour by quarter game plan work out well.
