Let's not panic about coach Brian Kelly at Notre Dame.
Don't forget Lou Holtz went 5-6 his first season too at Notre Dame.
Two years later they won a national championship.
Kelly would be 3-0 with a bit of Irish luck.
He knows he has some cards he has been dealt that are busted flushes.
His team cannot stop the run -- they are 99th in ranking against it.
It cost them against Michigan when Dennard Robisnon ran amok.
It cost them at key moments against MSU too.
Wait until next year is the cry.
There is actually a lot of truth to that. Kelly is already proving to be an incredible recruiter.
But they can still make a bowl game this year.
They need to defeat Stanford on Saturday to do it.
The 19th ranked Cardinals have shown how a program can be motivated to play beyond and above itself.
Despite major recruiting problems because of academic standards Jim Harbaugh has tuned his team into winners.
Kelly needs to take a leaf out of Harbaugh's book and do the same.
The future starts on Saturday.

Weis was an incredible recruiter, Willingham supposedly was an incredible recruiter...before coming to ND. When the wins start adding up, I will believe. At this point it is all talk and no substance. The Irish have only played 3 games..wait until next year is not what ND fans are saying. I am not sure where you are hearing that cry. It ain't happening in South Bend.

fugget about the peaceful irish - stupid twist. Paisley England's saviour is railing madly again about the Pope's visit with his Henry VII Popess Queen. Honored he should be with a knighting. Nothing was accomplished by all the NI related dying. The question to be put to the world is merely why does England fear a United Ireland? The answer is too simple. Their Union Jack and overlay representation of members of their cosy union. The cross of St. Patrick to represent Ireland, St. Andrew for Scotland and St George for England. Wales being incorporated within England and given a Prince of Wales standing is left without a symbol of their beloved a St David. The UK without Ireland has another problem relative to the Harp of old Erin whose use they've employed on seals and standards - next time note if you will the four quadrants of the Lion symbol that appears across the breath of commonwealth on medals flags money and buildings - even in Rockaferrer Center NY. The Thistle for Scotland, The Leek for wales, The Rose for England and the Harp for Ireland. This is a problem that would be too much to bear where they to perform major surgery on all of the objects that are adorned with this awesome lie. A United Ireland would be devastating to Mother and her diaspora.

As a BC fan, home of the real Irish, I can tell you that Brian Kelley has brought a lot of enthusiasm. Dayne Crist is not that good but he doesn't know it because Kelly has him emotionally pumped up. On October 2, ND goes to Chestnut Hill. As an Irish-American, I wish him well but wish BC more Irish luck.
