An injury to quarterback
Dayne Crist ruined what had been a great start to the game against Michigan at South Bend.
Crist led the irish to a touchdown on the first series, but then reported he had no sight in one eye after a heavy hit.
He was forced to leave the game and backup quarterback Andrew Marr took over but threw an immediate interception.
Then
Nate Montana, son of revered legend Joe stepped up.
'However, the
Irish attack sputtered and quarterback Denard Robinsion began to control the game for
Michigan, culminating in an incredible 87 yard run to leave his side ahead by 21-7.
In the closing seconds
Montana led the Irish to the three yard line but was unable to get the ball into the end zone.
