Brian Wilson closed out the World Series tonight with a scoreless ninth inning.
WIlson, the Irish American from Boston, who spent the summer backpacking in Ireland, pitched superbly to put an end to a disappointing Texas Rangers side.
Wilson was the bullpen ace but the Giants team of misfits and no names proved more than adequate to the task with a 4-1 series. win.
Tim Lincecum pitched superbly for eight innings and Wilson polished off a Texas batting order that never got untracked.
For the Giants franchise it was the endof a 55 year wait.
