Leinster sprung a major surprise by defeating Munster 13-9 in their Magners League rugby clash at the Avva Stadium in Dublin before 45,00 spectators.

Brian O'Driscoll, who else, got the winning try for Leinster midway through the second half , taking a pass on the overlap and running in from twenty yards out.

O'Driscoll also pulled off some incredible tackles and was deserved man of the match as chosen by TG4 television station.

The win was no more than Leinster, the decided underdogs deserved.

Apart from the opening fifteen minutes when Munster dominated, Leinster put their recent indifferent form behind them and ran at the Munster men with purpose and verve but made critical errors at key moments in ball handling.

They improved greatly in the second half when Jonathan Sexton, who was not able to play the full game, was introduced at out half.

Sexton immediately took charge and had the Leinster backs looking much more creative after his appearance.

On the other side Ronan O'Gara had all the Munster points from penalties but did little else besides.

The win marks the fifth successive time that Munster have been defeated by Leinster and they will especially rue this one as they came in strong favorites but never produced their best form.
