This year's Saint Patrick's Day Parade was themed after Roddy Doyle's short story, "Brilliant." Click to watch the festivities!

Read the reports in the Dublin newspapers. As I predicted. the St Patrick's parade turned into a vomitfest, punctuated by street fights and al fresco sex (nothing wrong with that, except when it's two 14 years olds doing it at noon in the public street).
I was there 2 years ago, had a GREAT time, took way too many pictures!!!
Wow seems like the best St Patricks day parade were In the USA this year what a shame.
WHAT THE HELL ???
Looks and sounds like a lot of garbage to me.
not bad on the eyes, ears and the mind - brilliant.
The snippets from Dublin’ “Brilliant” parade don’t do it any justice. It was a very grand event, not adequately portrayed in the snippets above. It was one of the best Dublin has produced, going by my experiences of my city’s parades. The artistry, the understanding of literature, especially as given by Roddy Doyles’ story narrated throughout the parade’s scenes and participating artistes’ interpretations of the story, was brilliantly (ahem, pardon the repeat) put by one Irish-American attending the Dublin parade who witnessed it all happening before his eyes in Dublin, a man called Bob Alworth, he of Notre Dame fame, remarking about this parade in Dublin today compared to American parades said “Our parades are about machines... (your) Irish parades are about people!” No man could have complimented Dublin’s parade people better. Thanks Bob! Slainte leat!
