Leprechcon, festival to benefit the Greater New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade, will take place on Saturday, February 23rd, officially kicking off the 2013 St. Patrick’s Day Season.

Leprechcon is being hosted by Anna Liffey's Irish Pub and will include visits to partner pubs such as The Russian Lady, Kelly’s, Black Bear, G.O.A.T., O’Tooles, & Christy’s. Registration will begin at Anna Liffey’s at 2 PM and the cost is $10. All proceeds from Leprechcon will benefit the Greater New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade, an annual tradition in New Haven, and one of the country’s most acclaimed parades.

After hosting a successful Leprechcon in 2012, this year’s event will feature excitement throughout the day, featuring a best-dressed competition. Attendees are encouraged to dress in a leprechaun-theme, and judges will make their determinations throughout the day.

Participating pubs will feature drink specials and prizes. Radio 104.1 will broadcast from Anna Liffey’s during registration and two plane tickets to Ireland will lead the prize booty. Registration will provide each Leprechcon supporter with one complimentary beverage, drink specials at each stop, and a free buffet half way through the fun fest.
Frank Cullimore, Anna Liffey’s Manager says “We established Leprechcon last year as a way to support the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New Haven and it was a huge hit.” He continued, “So we got together and did the only thing we know how to do, we made it bigger and better.”
