The Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick of Union County will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a dinner on Friday, January 25 at 7 p.m. at L’Affaire located at 1099 US Route 22 East in Mountainside, NJ 07092.
During the evening, past honorees and officers will be honored with special recognition given to the families of Joseph Higgins Sr. and Owen Roe McGovern for their initiative and leadership in bringing the Union County Friendly Sons into existence in 1962.
Tickets are $100 per person, $175 per couple or $900 per table of 10 people. Admission includes an open bar all night, a choice of king cut prime rib, chicken or salmon. Live music will be provided by Band of Rogues.
The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Union County was first organized in 1962 with Joseph Higgins as the first president. The organization was later incorporated in the fall of 2005.
Fifty years later, the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Union County has continued to support local worthy charitable organizations and to provide scholarships to young men of Irish ancestry.
