Cheers, guys/Thanks lads! Watching/listening to this montage took me down memory lane, and the good ol' days before mortgages and insurance policies. Great to see all the original Dubliners, not least since banjoman Barney McKenna only crossed-over recently. And Ronnie Drew not too long ago either. And of course innercity Dub Luke, from rough spot Sheriff Street, (with his characteristic flame red hair, who died of with a brain haemorrage a long time ago as a relatively young man in his early 40's. Ronnie looks like Ned Kelly with the noose around his neck. Had the privilege of meeting Ronnie at a book launch on the late Brigadista Bob Doyle in Liberty Hall. Totally unassuming guys, Lord rest them! Sinead does a good job of carefully uncorking Molly Malone. Talented girl. As my daughter when she was young would have said on seeing these clips - oooh Dad, it's so retro! But the, in your mid-50's very little is proto.
DAT was way back in da ould days when the ould lads could afford a pint and sang these songs tagether. Great craic ta be had heard then too. Now it would blast yer eardrums listaning ta pop and karaoke in most of the pubs.
