An average seven people in every 1,000 in Ireland are heroin users, a Europe-wide report had revealed.

Ireland's heroin problem is worse than in any other EU country and it also has the longest waiting list for treatment for those addicted to the drug, new research shows.

The 2010 annual report for the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction also revealed that the number of heroin users in Ireland is more than twice as high in comparison to other countries.

Waiting lists for heroin addicts in Dublin at up to two years, are the highest in Europe.

The research found that ecstacy use is low in comparison to the rest of Europe and it ranked Ireland fifth for cocaine consumption

Heroin use is very high in the states. And we should urine test everyone that gets a free check of any kind. Why is it that this world cannot stop the crap that goes on all over, but we can live the good life thinking it won't happen to us. It has always happened to us and our families. At least it has to mine over and over again. Nothing will sop the evil of drugs until we ALL join together everywhere. And stop looking the other way. What a shame.
eirebegorra, your ignorance is only exceeded by your empathy.
There are two reasons why the Irish working class has not mobilized to take on the corrupt gangsters of Fianna Fail. One of these is Mass Immigration--I've explained that elsewhere on this site. The other is that so many young Irish people are strung out on dope.
if they are addicted they must not be employed, if they are not employed they must be getting welfare, drug test welfare moochers and cut them off if they are positive, im sure there are more deserving people that could use the money
