Michael O'Leary and his marketing teams just couldn't resist the opportunity, on Wednesday, to use Gerard Depardieu's public urination scandal as a marketing ploy. And who could blame them.
The French star Gerard Depardieu was not allowed to use the bathroom on the CityJet flight from Dublin to Paris as the plane was about to take off. Apparently unable to hold on Depardieu urinated into a bottle in the aisle. He insists he did this "as discreetly as possible".Not surprisingly it was reported that he seemed to be quite drunk.

Why would he have to be 'drunk'? He's no longer a young man-it can happen to the best of us!

Even as a great fan of the brilliant Ryanair and Michael O'Leary, I can't help feeling this is a little bit below the belt! Of course it is a 'dig' at rival Air France, who perhaps should have been more sympathetic to one of France's famous sons discomfort. ~
The officious cabin crew member seems to be at fault here as they have procedures for such emergencies. Reports say Gerard was at the 'back of the plane' ~ if he was up front,no doubt it would have been a different story. The first/business/club class Trolley-Dolly would have handled it much more gently!
