Irish YouTube hit mockumentary shortlisted for RTE award - SEE VIDEO

A mockumentary “The Outlaw Concy Ryan” has landed a place on RTE’s (Ireland’s national broadcaster) Storyland competition. Previously other comic groups such as the Rubberbandits and the Hardy Bucks were given a boost by entering this competition.

The series is one of eight shortlisted out of 100 entries. The story focuses on Concy Ryan, who is already a YouTube hit.

Earlier this year the Limerick Leader newspaper spoke to the lead actor Francis Ryan. He said “My character introducing himself in his homeland of Moyhill. He doesn’t like regeneration, he thinks that everything is perfect the way it is and that nothing should change. He has hijacked the camera crew and taken them through his life and forced them to do things his way.”
