The British Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) have ordered an Italian ice cream company to stop running a print ad which shows two male priests about to kiss.
The ad for Antonio Federici gelato ran in Look magazine. The text below the controversial image read "We Believe in Salivation".
The ASA said “We considered the portrayal of the two priests in a sexualized manner was likely to be interpreted as mocking the beliefs of Roman Catholics and was therefore likely to cause serious offense to some readers.”
The authority only received six complaints again the ad.
It is not the first time that the ice cream company has had problems with advertising authorities. In September they banned an ad with the image of a pregnant nun. The tagline read “Immaculately Conceived.”

I think the add is hilarious. HILARIOUS. And no, there's nothing wrong with priests kissing. Life is love, right?

Are the gelato people trying to sell a product and/or make political statements??? Whatever..it's a distasteful ad that even most Protestants would find disgusting. You're right about the ad, Maloney.
