Angry protesters march to Sean Fitzpatrick's home

A group of protesters, including men, women and children, gathered at the home of the former bank chief Sean FitzPatrick over the weekend, demanding that he be thrown in hail.

However a large police presence out numbered the 30 or so protesters.

Sean FitzPatrick is the former chairman of the Anglo Irish Bank and owes the nationalized bank $150million (€110m).

A source close to the FitzPatrick family said that the disgraced bank chief was abroad.

"He is rarely in the house now, Sean still thinks he has done nothing wrong," the source told the Irish Independent.

The protest was organized by the Right to Work campaign and began on the main street in Greystones, Co. Wicklow before marching in the rain to Mr Fitzpatricks home.

James O'Toole, chairman of the campaign,said: "Sean FitzPatrick is just indicative of the whole rich classes in the country who haven't been touched,"

"I don't really have a message for Sean FitzPatrick, but I do have a message to the people in power -- we need to put Sean FitzPatrick in jail," he added.

Well said pikeman.A fiscal statement for the average household in ireland would show similar business practices i'm quite sure of that.

I really don’t understand how the Politicians or the Bankers can be totally blamed for everything, when in reality all the people needed do was to say “NO”. Especially when it is more than apparent that there is no way to repay back this loan…Be it for a mortgage or otherwise! For starters how could anyone ever believe that it doesn’t matter how much you borrow…Because I can keep borrowing forever despite my debt. Or who believes that house prices will continue to inflate in value FOREVER! Seems to me the only people that knew there was a problem are the Economists, who could clearly see there were disastrous BUBBLES starting to inflate by at least 1998.

I think its a complete farce than he languishes in a multi million dollar house in Cape Cod while he owes the bank a fortune (not to mention the people). It should be possible to reclaim all his properties overseas to get the money back! Let's not forget he bought these million dollar properties in the USA right before Anglo went under so seems to me there is plenty of room to prosecute here!!

The Irish people are only looking for a scapegoat. Most of you are all guilty of the excesses and madness. How about the government regulators who didnt do their job.

its about time that our voise are heard , if i went in a bank and robbed 100euro i would be locked up, but to rob from with in the bank you get a pension give the misses the house and the tax payer pays for you. as for the goverment you pay them the best of wages and they make a bollex of our country, ever 4 years it cost us aprox 1million in wages for a taoiseach and that is only one wage . yes i want to save ireland and i would gladly pay extra taxes on one condition that all over paid ministors and juduges and a like get wage that our small country can pay, it time to reboot our country.
