The devil at work in the Vatican, says chief exorcist

Lord save us, but the Vatican's chief exorcist has really unloaded on his own cardinals by claiming that "the Devil is at work inside the Vatican."

Father Gabriele Amorth, 85, who has been chief exorcist for 25 years, says there are "cardinals who do not believe in Jesus, and bishops who are linked to the Demon."

He added: "When one speaks of 'the smoke of Satan' [a phrase coined by Pope Paul VI in 1972] in the holy rooms, it is all true -- including these latest stories of violence and pedophilia."

Amorth has just published "Memoirs of an Exorcist," and said that the devil was "pure spirit, invisible. But he manifests himself with blasphemies and afflictions in the person he possesses. He can remain hidden, or speak in different languages, transform himself or appear to be agreeable. At times he makes fun of me."

Acording to the London Times, it sometimes took six or seven of his assistants to hold down a possessed person. Those possessed often yelled and screamed and spat out nails or pieces of glass, which he kept in a bag.

"Anything can come out of their mouths -- finger-length pieces of iron, but also rose petals."

He said that he hoped every diocese would eventually have a resident exorcist.

Father José Antonio Fortea Cucurull, a Rome-based exorcist, said that Amorth had "gone well beyond the evidence" in saying that Satan had infiltrated the Vatican corridors.

"Cardinals might be better or worse, but all have upright intentions and seek the glory of God," he said. Some Vatican officials were more pious than others, "but from there to affirm that some cardinals are members of satanic sects is an unacceptable distance."

Well Evil is everywhere its in all human beings .Its the Nature of the Beast , We Have both forces within us Good & Evil. and its a full time effort to keep Evil in check.but in the long run it seems Good will always overcome evil. God Willing.But i think this old Father Gabriele Amorth has been sipping too much Wine or maybe a little Daft in the Head ,Next thing hewill be saying he see's the Devil Dancing with the Pope ,and the Cardinals Having Lap Dances by Harlots .

Read 'Windswept House' Read 'Hostage to The Devil' Read '1025 Anti Apostle' and read the New Testament. You'll know so much then about the dangers of invisible demonic spirits that you'll wonder about evil like you never did before.

kickstar, I invite you to prove your assertations. May the divil be not in your reply, is my prayer. On the topic: yes, the devil works everywhere, even in your own home, as Fritzl's wife found out without her knowing.

Father Martin and Dr. Scott Peck were both deeply involved in this aspect of evil. You can read more about it in Dr. Pecks book, "People of the Lie". In this book he writes how he and Father Martin worked together on exorcisms. Very interesting and eye opening book, especially when it came to who uses organized religions as camouflage.

If evil purpose is to distroy as it ,Unlike the Father,can not create , then what better target than His Holy Church. Father Jose' may be mad and serving unwittingly that attempt to distroy or not,who knows? One thing we can be certain is that this whole story serves the interest of the distroyer and not The Creator as it is only ment to ridicule or cause doubt!

I am Protestant and I believe Father Amorth. There are people that have the gift of Discernment of Evil and you can find this evil in all faith's. As a Catholic ,why would you not believe one of your own unless you only believe what suites you? Evil has been around since the Garden of Eden and no one is immuned.

Ilove so much about the church and I am a Protestant. But I fear that this man may be right. When we entertain political correctness as opposed to scriptural truth we enter into darkness. Secrecy and coverups do not glorify Our Lord.
