Joe Biden more popular than Obama says Maureen Dowd

It takes
Maureen Dowd to finally point out what media people have known for months.
Vice
President Joe Biden is more popular than
President Obama these days.
Dowd's column this Sunday morning slams Obama and how he treats the media.
Biden on the other hand is praised for his openness and popularity.
"Biden gave a press party at his house recently with a beach theme — complete with Uzi-size squirt guns and water slides. Journalists came with their families, schmoozed with top
White House officials like David Axelrod and
Rahm Emanuel, and watched a dripping wet vice president walk around with his little grandson. One Obama aide remarked that Biden is “the most beloved person in the White House.”
"...the vice president is so lacking in any vengeful feelings for past reporting that left him for dead, I sometimes wonder if he’s really Irish." Dowd writes.
Dowd writes that Obama was always aloof and distrustful of the press despite the fact that most adored him during the campaign.
Now that some in the press have turned against him Dowd says Obama is proving very thin skinned.
" It hurts Obama to be a crybaby about it, and to blame the press and the “old
Washington game” for his own communication failures." Dowd writes
Amazing isn't it when you think of it that Biden has become the more popular of the two.
Suddenly Obama's incredible leap from obscurity to the White House is coming back to haunt him when it comes to the long term savvy on how to deal with the press.
In this case it is Irish Uncle Joe who is showing the way.

Biden's more popular than Obama, only because Obama's poll numbers are so LOW, nowadays. Even a dufas-joke like Biden is outpolling him. It's not that Biden's numbers are so high; it's that Obama's are so LOW.

Joe “Bite-Me” Biden traveled to Wisconsin yesterday to campaign with far left Progressive Russ Feingold (D-WI). Smokin Joe ordered a custard at a popular custard stand in Glendale during one of their stops. When Biden asked Kopp’s Frozen Custard stand owner how much he owed him, the owner responded, “Nothing, just lower our taxes.” Fat chance. An embarrassed Joe Biden ignored him and walked away.

My frustration as an American (former military) is certanly NOT with Uncle Joe; he appears the nice guy throughout this administration....

Does anyone know what Joe bidens IQ is? I would like to get an verified scientific number from a credible source. I know the senator considers himself to be a genius in all areas, but i would like to see some back up...btw: Anyone see any of obamas school transcripts?....I would just like to see the qualifications behind the captains of the ss titanic.

Biden is a great guy and anyone who has met him knows this....The Irish are the only people on earth who so deeply hate there own. Just read on....

Irish? I have heard little bad press about the VP who appears genuine and likeable around anyone in his crowd. His persona offsets the crabapple variety

President Obama public approval numbers are higher than Bush's, Clinton's and Regan's at this term in each of their presidency's. Go to Gallup and read them for yourself. Maureen Dowd could have mentioned that simple fact in between her calls for a more paternalistic style (daddy issues much?) and her disappointment that he won't invite her to play water pistols. If she reported on his substance rather than his style she'd be out of a job.

" Biden more popular than Obama ..." LOL ... LOL ... LOL ... " 'been down so long it looks like up to me." With less than half of the electorate voting and less than 1/4 answering stupid polling questions, no wonder "popular" is so relative a term as to shrink below 40% ... The Obamanation of it!

Insane laughter followed by a long period of silence. If obama maintains this pace, Charles Manson will be more popular... but Biden will still be one pickle short of a barrel (or one sandwich short of a pinic, etc.)

On Memorial Day Joe Biden acted more Presidential than Obama himself when he saluted the troops at Arlington National Cemetary. VP Biden threw a fun filled cookout bash 30 days after Memorial Day. You would never see Joe Biden, Ronald Reagan, GWB or either Clinton cross the line at a 'Chicago style' barbecue on Memorial Day; saluting burgers, cold fries and light beer. No way.
irishwxman | Jun 14, 2010, 08:23 AM EDT
that's not saying much considering Biden is as big an idiot as Obama.

Oh one more thing, biden was one of those "lifetime" senators who is responsibe for making our government the 10 pound tick on the 5 pound dog (private sector).

Furtermore, biden and co. are responsible for pushing oil extraction out into the deep waters where it is dangerous to drill and recover. If this rig was on land or in shallow waters it would be easy to fix/resolve. In the typical hair plugged logic, they think if you can't see it it won't affect you.

Instead of kissing obama/biden posteriors on this site, how about asking a few tough questions for a change? The gulf is dying from this oil spill 450 endangered sea turtles have washed up on shore dead. In the meantime team obam/biden don't lift the Jones act and let international teams of ships and oil recovery specialists in to save us, they are more interested in protecting their constituents the unions....This is 911! no more parties/fundraisers obama & biden, use all force and means necessary to save our ocean.

With bidens loooong history of plagarization and prevaricating on any subject, his terms in the senate which have steamrollered us into bankruptcy. The ONLY beef you have with this hand puppet is that he is pro Israel? The buffoon was a senator from a state which is smaller than a big city in California, he should be a glad handing mayor somewhere, not a senator, but has caused the US an inordinate amount of damage due to his seniority...Yes he gave obama "gravitas" alright.

Biden, who thinks its no big deal that nine human beings were murdered by Israeli terrorists....he appears to be reading from Bush's handbook\ Without the the support from the U.S. government Israeli terrorists would not exit Hang your head in shame, Biden. Next election is coming and I ALWAYS vote,
