In her memoir 'Going Rogue' Sarah Palin described how her Irish American mother Sarah Sheran whose grandparents came from Roscommon imbued her with family values and a deep respect for religion.
Alas, those values have not been handed on to her kids it seems, especially Bristol who recently broke off her engagement again to bad boy Levi Johnson.
Bristol and Levi were once engaged to be married, then she had his kid, then he left her then he dissed her mother, then he became a semi-porn star, then he fell back in love with her, then she found out he had cheated on her and probably had fathered another child and was tom catting to beat the band .
Enough already?
Well then there's Bristol's new role as a young woman speaking out against pre marriage sex -- a slight case of bolting the stable door when the horse is gone
Well imagine for moment if Sarah Palin was in the White House?
This stuff would be endless, the gossip sites would have a field day.other previously embarrassing family members like Billy Carter. Jimmy;s wayward brother, Roger Clinton, Bill Clinton's errant half brother, would be like altar boys.
It would be all Bristol all the time and one can only imagine her mother's frustration with the tabloid life her daughter is currently leading.
The news that she and Levi were shopping a reality show before their latest break up is just another example of how out of control they are.
is America ready for a Palin White House with such distractions?
I hardly think so. The White House is not a long running soap opera which is what it would be with Palin in place.
Americans are not ready for that.

If Palin is elected I might just leave the country to get away from the dumbed down Americans.
Monsoonman | Aug 14, 2010, 12:35 PM EDT
Mcbro, so what? Every little wart that Sarah Palin has just proves she is a human being, she is not perfect, most normal people like that and can identify with her. We are tired of needing a lawyer to interpret what we are being told from the ruling class in our capitals and dc, ferinstance: what the meaning of is, is. Palins moral compass knows where true north is and she is unapologetic about America.
hancock | Aug 12, 2010, 06:47 PM EDT
He is an idiot, and has a space in his back for Nancy to stick her hand.
McNamara31 | Aug 12, 2010, 06:09 PM EDT
Monsoonman..Did you view "the video" of Palin visiting Homer on You Tube? What do you think of the two guys with the black sunglasses trying to block the video as Sarah's attempts spontaneous communication with a fellow Alaskan? What do you think, presidential or reality show queen?McBro
Monsoonman | Aug 12, 2010, 09:34 AM EDT
McBro: They are talking about Homer Alaska, not Homer Simpson....It is a bustling seaport just down the road from Wasilla/Anchorage on the Kenai Peninsula. There is a great ferry trip between homer and Kodiak, take your sea sick pills.
hancock | Aug 11, 2010, 12:53 PM EDT
Didn't the current idiot once say "all 57 states"?
McNamara31 | Aug 11, 2010, 10:18 AM EDT
Palin supporters Google: Sarah Palin Homer moment. And judge for yourself.
msdsandpiper | Aug 11, 2010, 01:19 AM EDT
ANOTHER idiot is the writer who's article starts: "Why Sarah Palin will now never be president because of..." A lot of smart people will vote for her. I look forward to a real change, in 2012!
rcrdskpr@aol.com | Aug 09, 2010, 03:19 PM EDT
the "progressives" are always looking for a reason/excuse to write an attack article on palin. nevermind all the screwing around democrats have done for years. obama couldnt find his nose if he had his finger up it. never worked a job(only a street organizer), never had to balance a budget, never had to answer for anything, because he never did anything.
hancock | Aug 09, 2010, 02:52 PM EDT
What does that have to do w him being an idiot?
McNamara31 | Aug 09, 2010, 01:04 PM EDT
hancock...Real success is judged, not only where you end up, but from where you begin.

I got news for you mac, plenty of idiots have gone to Harvard.
McNamara31 | Aug 09, 2010, 10:09 AM EDT
@Sungold.. Last time I checked the "State of Hawaii" was still part of the United States and for Indonesia, he lived there for "four" years as a young child, and why wouldn't that have added to his understanding of the world rather than being seen as something suspect. When someone pulls himself up, especially overcoming a bi racial background, and graduates Harvard it is "an American success story". And when someone diminishes that effort with an "idiot" comment...Ya, I don't think it's at all political.
Sungold | Aug 09, 2010, 12:50 AM EDT
To McNamara31: What makes you think that Obama is an American at all? He grew up in Indonesia and Hawaii. He went to American colleges on a foreign student visa. He was elected President even though the public knew very little about his background at all, which is how they want it. He is not a "rags-to-riches, American dream" story. I resent the notion that anyone who disagrees with his politics, or is suspicious of his motives, is a racist. Sarah Palin's not perfect, but she also isn't an enigma. What you see is what you get, and her whole life story is out there for everyone to see.
Monsoonman | Aug 08, 2010, 08:42 PM EDT
Obama represents the best America can be? I heartily disagree, Bro. If he is the best we are in dire straits.
hancock | Aug 08, 2010, 08:26 PM EDT
he's an idiot.
McNamara31 | Aug 08, 2010, 07:03 PM EDT
Hancock... Idiot? As kids, we were taught the American dream. Go to school, study, apply yourself, and excel, and you can be anything in America. Regardless of the 24/7 smear campaign lodged against him, and his family, by the low life's, Beck, Palin and Limbaugh, this man did everything we were taught and succeeded despite the bigoted dinosaurs that just can't get past a black president. Oh, but they won’t say that. They’ll infer he’s a socialist, Muslim, communist, a regime leader, or some other hateful diversion. Obama represents the best of what American can be, and Palin the very worst. Palin, with her glib remarks, that she is somehow proud of how ill prepared she is; that she's real America. Well the day that America could be governed by some folksy, empty headed, airhead passed with the covered wagons. But some people still haven't gotten that.
CelticRain | Aug 08, 2010, 06:44 PM EDT
Hancock, I could't have said it better myself ;)
CelticRain | Aug 08, 2010, 06:43 PM EDT
That's too bad, and I hope that's not true. I really like her, despite all of that.
hancock | Aug 08, 2010, 04:18 PM EDT
If that idiot who currently resides there can get enough morons to vote for him , theres hope for anybody.
wgman062 | Aug 08, 2010, 02:13 PM EDT
She'll never be elected because since walking out on the people of Alaska in the hopes of making LOTS of money from the same gullible folks as Rush and Glenn, she has succeeded in making millions. She'll never run for ofice again now. She couldn't bear to take the pay cut.
galway2001 | Aug 07, 2010, 05:24 PM EDT
i hope that she will become the president, the country would be the wonderful place it was years ago,. i will be out there voting for her. What her daughter did or did not do its not her fault. She was old enough to use a condom, stop condeming her mother.she's a good person
IrishEddy | Aug 07, 2010, 01:32 PM EDT
Palin has nothing to offer the American people, she even seems to falling out of favor with the so-called Tea Party. Her and Michele Bachmann seem to be in a Cat fight over the Tea Party. The Tea Party has a regressive test for it's leadership.
Mairin67 | Aug 07, 2010, 01:31 PM EDT
She would be great entertainment but I think this country is walking a fine line between distinguishing "celebrity" from... anything, to be frank. And therefore, I think we run the risk that enough people are influenced by her. But, I do believe that truth and goodness will prevail and the only place we will continue to see her and her offspring are in the pages of the tabloids.
DennisQ | Aug 07, 2010, 01:01 PM EDT
Sarah Palin is an entertainer, not a politician. She'd have to be nuts to run for president - it would cost her a huge amount of money, and she wouldn't win anyhow. As an entertainer, she has the option of choosing which issues she'll address, and her positions don't have to be consistent. But as a candidate for president, she'd have to take difficult positions on difficult issues, and she'd have to sound like she knows what she's talking about. She has no history of that - zero. As we get closer to Election 2012, her fellow Republicans are going to take her down. It's bad enough they're out of power; but with Sarah Palin at the top of the ticket they'll be a laughing stock. Think George Bush was bad at impromptu news conferences? You ain't seen nothin' till Sarah opens her mouth to answer a question she hasn't been briefed on.
Mairin67 | Aug 07, 2010, 11:53 AM EDT
Sarah Palin will never reside in the White House due to her own arrogance. It has nothing to do with her children. She was the one in the first place to parade her children across the stage and then had to do a big cover up when Bristol got pregnant. She made a huge show of touting how her daughter was going to marry the father of her unborn child because she knew that's what would appeal to her conservative followers. Now look where it is. She is a phony, through and through. I feel sorry for her kids. She threw Brisol under the bus. Levi is a slimeball, but I find it hilarious that someone like him will take her down. She deserves it.
Monsoonman | Aug 07, 2010, 10:33 AM EDT
So you were impressed by the quaffed, perfumed prince, Joe Biden, whose hair plugs lie as smoothly and naturally as the lies that emanate from his mouth? He has been part of the problem for the past 35 years in the senate, yet he is considered an authority? On what? prevarication? plagiarism? Knowing where skeletons are buried?...this is what is wrong with the voting base in this country a bunch of gullible fools who fall for the hogwash that fall from some slicks mouth is all it takes to soothe them....there is NO substance there, we have seen it for 35 years.
debmoore | Aug 07, 2010, 10:12 AM EDT
I agree with vtucherov-when the woman opens her mouth, she embarasses all women!! When I saw her in the VP debates, my mind was made up NOT to vote for her and McCain!!!!!
vtucherov | Aug 07, 2010, 01:41 AM EDT
The woman will never be president, but not because of her daughter or potential son-in-law. Great t'underinj Jasus, but have you ever heard her talk? The woman's freakin' eeejit.
AltRockAddict | Aug 07, 2010, 12:22 AM EDT
@Vincem13: Right on, bro! I hope you're an American registered to vote =) and @Elliegill: Love the Kennedy analogy...who can argue with that?! Even Clinton's antics are an embarassment...
vincem13 | Aug 06, 2010, 11:54 PM EDT
I don't know if you are Christian, but even a fair-minded individual will not punish the parent for the misdeeds of their children if unable to prevent them. All that I see is a real American mom with a real American family having the same problems that families throughout America have to face. Who Better to speak to them than one who has been through the ringer. I'm all for Sarah Palin for President 2012!
Elliegill | Aug 06, 2010, 11:07 PM EDT
I think the Kennedy family still holds the record for family dirt. BIG TIME !
AltRockAddict | Aug 06, 2010, 09:32 PM EDT
So young Bristol learned a lesson the hard way and has a right to warn others if she chooses. I think Palin is courageous to stand tall while the press relentlessly drags her through the mud because she’s not perfect and doesn’t try to hide the truth. Whose family doesn't have problems? Who hasn't changed their minds when enlightenment dawns? Every family has its trials and tribulations. Isn't that true in Ireland as well? I'll be voting for Sarah Palin and her Big Ideas (as Bono would say); not her kids, husband, fishing boat, pets, or her private religious journey. TRANSPARENT is the new PERFECT and that’s what Americans are ready for.
McNamara31 | Aug 06, 2010, 09:28 PM EDT
Willieboy...Simply said, Mrs. Palin is the first one to attack and demean with ease. It is how she has established herself from the very beginning. When the GOP needed someone to go in an attack and smear, she was a very eager cheerleader. Palin is a blight on the American political system; but that's the price of free speech.
willieboy | Aug 06, 2010, 07:52 PM EDT
DON'T YOU PEOPLE HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO? WHY DON'T YOU GET YOUR OWN HOUSE IN ORDER?
SyndiHolmes | Aug 06, 2010, 07:37 PM EDT
If anyone wants a definition of white trash you need look no further than the Palin family. A woman who preaches personal responsibility used the office of Governor only long enough to parlay it into a national political bid and the accompanying personal financial gains she has managed to wrangle. (Funny how the Right and the Tea Party overlook her abandonment of her responsibilities as a duly elected official.) Her husband as First Dude spoke in high schools encouraging students to work on the oil rigs as an alternative to higher education, which was the course he had chosen in life, until he too resigned his job.A family devoted to expousing conservative values-I guess that includes teenaged motherhood and endorsing your mother in law's political opponent. And lets not forget that 2005 excorcism by the Kenyan minister.
Liamkeyes | Aug 06, 2010, 07:23 PM EDT
Never say Never! She has my vote!!! We've had Bush and Obama. What have they done?
Lizdp22 | Aug 06, 2010, 05:55 PM EDT
His name is not Levi Johnson, but Levi Johnston, with a "t". Liz
McNamara31 | Aug 06, 2010, 05:36 PM EDT
Sarah Palin is a self centered, political opportunist, who uses her children as political props, as a caring mother would never do. She fans the flames of hate and smears, and when it comes to the Christian values that "she espouses"; I guess she was absent the day they taught the doctrine about "bearing false witness."
irishgenebuf | Aug 06, 2010, 05:02 PM EDT
Many thanks to Bristol and Levi if the writer is correct. We have enough problems without mama airhead being nominated or elected.
pat52rk | Aug 06, 2010, 04:40 PM EDT
like i said, anyone who thinks africa is a country should be left no where near the white house
kevinhayes | Aug 06, 2010, 03:48 PM EDT
This is a ridiculous article - but some people are taking it seriously here? Go figure. Sarah Palin is a minor league fool who is a perfect example of the Peter Principle. The Half Governorship of a state smaller than Staten Island was more than she was capable of until McCain plucked her from obscurity. We dodged a bullet in that unDynamic Duo! She's now in it for the money and will probably take a run in 2012 but she has no chance. The Bristol/Levi sideshow is irrelevant to her basic incompetence. Did any of you see the Katie Couric interview? 'Nuf said.
DeaconJack | Aug 06, 2010, 03:26 PM EDT
Please do a canvas of the Alaskan people when she was the "Gov"--you'll find that the empty suit has strong filling!!!
pat52rk | Aug 06, 2010, 02:42 PM EDT
she will never become president because she's as dumb as a broomstick , not because of her daughter..
IrishLass127 | Aug 06, 2010, 01:34 PM EDT
Forget Bristol and Levi, the woman should not be President no matter how you cut it.
odubhlaoich | Aug 06, 2010, 12:26 PM EDT
Setting aside that this story is fluff, allow me the chance to offer that the kids are only a sideshow. Sarah Palin is an empty suit, a fast talking, uneducated, shallow creation out of thin air. It wouldn't surprise me to see a Karl Rove-type try to elevate this vapid woman to the White House but it will take a major effort. The Republican party has a long history of promoting empty heads for POTUS: Coolidge, Harding, Hoover, Reagan and W Bush to name a few. So this well-traveled (5 colleges needed to earn a BA) scatter brain is well qualified to be a Republican, but not president.
jdi2269 | Aug 06, 2010, 12:04 PM EDT
PATRICK ROBERTS....YOU ARE UNINFORMED AND STUPID !!!!
FastEddy | Aug 06, 2010, 11:57 AM EDT
Enough already! ...
deenaww | Aug 06, 2010, 11:39 AM EDT
You honestly believe that her doppleganger daughter is the only reason she isn't fit to be president? (Remember Sarah also got pregnant out of wedlock but lucky for Sarah her Levi married her). Like any townie troublemaker she knows how to stir the pot. She is a savant when it comes to manipulation and grabbing headlines. The GOP has many competent intelligent women...who cares what this mental midget has to say.
Nicomax | Aug 06, 2010, 10:22 AM EDT
She often refers to her religious beliefs as a reason why she should be supported for political office. The US Constitution has a 'no religious test allowed' clause for any office which she seems to skip over with impunity.
rickduff | Aug 06, 2010, 09:51 AM EDT
Snooki Palin hasn't got the smarts to be anywhere near the White House let alone it's main resident and she knows it. If she cared about service to the country she wouldn't have reneged on being governor of Alaska. How you gonna keep 'em down on the farm after they've seen Paris? She had a taste of the big time and she wanted to cash in before everyone saw she was dumber than Bush!
Irishjule | Aug 06, 2010, 09:35 AM EDT
Yes, there would be scandal, but Sarah herself is honest, sincere, moral, conservative, a defender of the Constitution and a genuine person. I think her detractors are afraid of her and probably a bit jealous.
John G. Hogan | Aug 06, 2010, 09:31 AM EDT
"She will now 'never' be President" Careful what you say or you might be dining on that word She was and is more qualified than the pretender
reinkefj | Aug 06, 2010, 08:58 AM EDT
You may well be right. But, let me put forth one reason that she COULD be President. Rightly or wrongly, "We, The People" perceived her as part of the great unwashed. She's not snooty, not in bed with the various power groups, and most of all not full of herself. Perhaps, we could have a truly humble person in the White House. I'd prefer Ron Paul who has decades of demonstrating what he believes in. But, I'd accept a Sarah. We need to change the type of person we put in the White House. No more rich kids. No more sexual perverts. No more "liberal". No socialists. And, most of all no more "big Gooferment" advocates. imho
murphy66 | Aug 06, 2010, 01:50 AM EDT
Sarah will be a guardian angel to the unborn. VOTE FOR HER!!
hancock | Aug 05, 2010, 11:25 PM EDT
Since when do have to be qualified to be President?
dianeejohnson | Aug 05, 2010, 11:20 PM EDT
Sarah Palin will never become President because she is unqualified in virtually every respect - it has nothing to do with her daughter.
AmAncINED | Aug 05, 2010, 08:45 PM EDT
For those who disagree with Sarah Palin's political views, that shouldn't be an excuse to criticize Bristol. That's what I meant to say. Lots of people have KIDS that don't always do the right things. That's part of the parenting gig. If you have kids that have never made a mistake, congratulations.
oldbear | Aug 05, 2010, 05:14 PM EDT
The errant family of Sarah Palin is like a millstone for her career much less as a parent/grandparent. The kids are a thorn beneath her saddle
WoundedKnee | Aug 05, 2010, 05:07 PM EDT
"Bristol still should not be degraded because of her mother's actions" What actions did her mother do you seem to find offensive?
AmAncINED | Aug 05, 2010, 04:00 PM EDT
Levi Johnston do the right thing???? Pu-leeese. Bristol still should not be degraded because of her mother's actions. Bristol is not a potential candidate for president.
DennisQ | Aug 05, 2010, 03:17 PM EDT
I should have put some indication that I intended my earlier post to be sarcastic. I have certainly never felt any conflict about voting for Sarah Palin; in fact I'm mystified about her political appeal. However, since Palin has chosen to be a pop celebrity, she's responsible for the effects of that choice on her family. Had events taken their ordinary course, it's likely that Levi Johnston would have done the right thing by Palin's daughter Bristol and that would be the end of it. Instead, Palin chose to go Hollywood, and brought all these disruptive influences into her family life. It's a choice she made - when she saw an opportunity to make millions of dollars by going on tour and saying bigoted things, and she took it. She used to be a nobody with a tidy family life; now she's a somebody with tabloid reporters going through her trash.
WoundedKnee | Aug 05, 2010, 02:16 PM EDT
AmAncINED -- Very good post. That poster Dennis Q is one big HYPOCRITE, like most of the apologists for immigration. In Ireland I've talked to people who were all in favour of unlimited immigration into the country, because they claimed that the immigrants were smarter, better-looking, harder-working etc. than the working-class Irish. They're inverted racists--they hate the poorer sections of their own society. DennisQ is cut from the same mould.
hyattsville | Aug 05, 2010, 02:07 PM EDT
Well Levi Johnston comes across as the bigger donkey in this business. You didn't say if you reckon it'll wreck his mom's career distributing oxycontin.
AmAncINED | Aug 05, 2010, 01:58 PM EDT
DennisQ, you're so sympathetic towards illegals but you call an unwed TEEN mother a "tramp." Bristol has a lot of company because there are plenty of "tramps" in America. That was really a nasty label to use coming from such a mature know-it-all "adult" like you want everyone to believe you are. You like to lecture posters about prejudice, lack of empathy, and name-calling, etc. Then you make a comment like that. I wonder if Bristol had been the daughter of Obama if you would've called her a "tramp." I'm no fan of Palin, but I wouldn't stoop to calling Bristol a degrading name. You know the old saying, "It takes one to know one." That was really immature of you to make a comment about someone you don't know personally except through the press. Bristol didn't have an abortion, she's raising her child, and if she weren't Palin's daughter, you wouldn't bother to comment. But then, you've probably never made any mistakes in your life - a real paragon of virtue.
Southernpride | Aug 05, 2010, 01:08 PM EDT
Robert's has a lot of anger and hatred towards women
DennisQ | Aug 05, 2010, 12:35 PM EDT
Come to think of it, I was somewhat conflicted about whether to vote for her or not. That Bristol sure is a tramp! And as they say . . . the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
maryosullivan | Aug 05, 2010, 11:13 AM EDT
Is this the best reason you can think of why she will never be President? Have you considered that she is also a blithering idiot? As for her " deep respect of religion" does that include her being photographed with head bowed while her Kenyan witch doctor did a seance in what was described as a church to ensure her enemies were kept at bay?
hyattsville | Aug 05, 2010, 10:08 AM EDT
Just because of Bristol yes? Are you honestly suggesting that she'd have a chance otherwise? Perish the thought!
AmAncINED | Aug 05, 2010, 09:37 AM EDT
That's 100% totally ridiculous! Palin should be judged, like any other candidate, on her personal qualifications, her beliefs on the issues, her actions, and her suitability to hold the Office of President, regardless of Bristol. I'd never NOT vote for someone who was qualified just because of what their adult children were doing or not doing. Zillions of people have kids and relatives that embarrass them. So what! I vote for the candidate that I think will do the best job as President of the U.S. I don't give a "rats a--" about what their adult children or relatives are doing. Family should not have anything to with the whether or not the candidate is qualified to be president - period. Those who disagree with Palin and can't stand her, wouldn't vote for her even if Bristol was voted "Best Teen That Ever Lived."
WoundedKnee | Aug 05, 2010, 06:29 AM EDT
What a stupid argument by Roberts. Because Palin's children have got up to some funny stuff she should not be president. What utter garbage, a weak excuse indeed for Roberts' prejudice against women.
