Bill Clinton is now more popular than Barack Obama according to a new Gallup poll.
He was the villain of the piece during the last presidential election.
Back then he was accused of everything from racism to bullying.
Yet now he is now more popular than the man who swept into the White House on a tidal wave.
A Gallup poll published yesterday showing his favorability rating beating President Barack Obama's for the first time.
Clinton earned a 61 percent favorability rating, compared with 52 percent for Obama, Gallup reported.
Clinton also did far better than former President George W. Bush, who received 45 percent.
How times have changed.
Yet is should be no surprise.
Obama is president from the neck up.
It is all cerebral stuff, no emotion, no real connection with ordinary people even though he is doing a decent job.
Like the Tin Man he needs to find a heart --and soon . Otherwise he is in danger of becoming a stick figure like what happened to Jimmy Carter.
Bill Clinton was mocked when people said he could 'feel their pain.'
Guess what? It worked then and it would work again now.
Obama's best chance may be to get an empathy transplant from his wife, who is by far the warmer person of the two and much more empathetic.
Bill Clinton must be loving this new attention however.
With his daughter's wedding set to flash across the globe next week he will be back exactly where he loves to be at the center of the universe.
He will also be very happy that senators and congressmen want him and not Obama on the campaign trail this November.
It is all retroactive justice for how badly he was treated on the campaign trail.
But revenge is a dish best eaten cold.
Bill Clinton is enjoying seconds right now.

ladyliberty | Aug 03, 2010, 12:12 AM EDT
the condition of everything important in the US WAS SO MUCH BETTER WHEN Clinton was in office. I don't blame Obama for the mess today. lt is BUSH-BUSH-BUSH.

IrishandProud...The only one you're fooling, is yourself.
IrishAndProud | Aug 02, 2010, 06:16 PM EDT
What are you talking about, McNamara? You're the first person between us here to bring up Obama's race. Talk about not getting past the 'race' thing...that's apparently YOU, McNamara. I've obviously p-ssed you off somewhere along the line.
McNamara31 | Aug 01, 2010, 01:03 AM EDT
IrishandProud...Still can't get past that race thing can you? Now, knock yourself out, with a two page response, telling me how very wrong I am (once again) liberal elitist and all, using that “race card”, thingy. How else could you rationalize G W Bush looking better?
jimmy12003 | Jul 30, 2010, 07:18 PM EDT
what i cant understand is how no one managed to wipe out either one of the bushes! look at the amount of innocent people who died during there time in office as a result of the kiss as-s and financal support they gave that middleast terrorist org!
IrishAndProud | Jul 28, 2010, 07:59 PM EDT
Why is Bill Clinton 'more popular' now than Barack Obama? And...this is a serious question? The real question is, how can you be LESS popular than Obama, nowadays?
IrishAndProud | Jul 28, 2010, 07:39 PM EDT
Wrong again, McNamara. GW Bush already looks light-years better than Obama ever will.
Monsoonman | Jul 27, 2010, 09:52 AM EDT
Ah history weaving in the works...About to see how clinton single handedly balanced the budget, gave us a surplus, restored world peace and still had time for his evening cigar...Now there was a man, a real leader, eh?
McNamara31 | Jul 26, 2010, 09:05 PM EDT
Presidents, most times, look better in the rear view mirror and Clinton is no exception. Remember all in all, he managed the country well and left a $237 billion dollar surplus. Even Nixon regained respect, in the years following his resignation for his part in the Watergate scandal. However, for GW Bush, no length of time will ever cast a positive image on his presidency and its impact on America and the global economy.

Ask main stream media and they will tell you it's all about racism. I wonder how Monica voted?
chesapeake | Jul 26, 2010, 08:24 AM EDT
Withoutthe Republicans controlling Congress, Bill Clinto would have died on the vine. Regardless, anyone would be better that this political moron with socialist motives. Just goes to show that candidates elected through the efforts of the leftist medias just won't work out. Case in point, Jimmy Carter. VV f

Well, it is questionalble on how much credibility you want to foist upon any poll by Gallup after the revelations on how they manipulate the samples to sway the outcome of their political polling. But you might also want to consider the climate that we're in. This President and his party, which includes most of the so-called news media, continue to try to blame the Bush administration for every negative that results from his, and their, incompetence. While Bill is constantly hailed as the architect of the only surplus, no matter how falacious that statement is. Some facts you might ponder: The supposed surplus of the Clinton years was created by the .com bubble and was a projection based on contiued growth at a rate greater than had been experienced. Falacious because in 1999 the .com bubble had already burst and the Clinton years concluded in a recession. So much for the surplus. Obama and the Dems on the otherhand have had control of congress since 2006. In the US, that means they controlled appropriations and spending. Before 2007, the economy was experiencing healthy growth and high employment. By the end othe first year of Nancy and Harry in control, we were in a recession and the Fanny Mae & Freddie Mac inspired housing collapse had begun. Then we got Obama and he increase the deficit three fold in his first year. You're right when you make the comparison of Obama to Jimmy Carter, they will both go down in history as the worst Presidents in US history. History will decide which of the two was the worst.

jdi2269 | Jul 25, 2010, 12:21 PM EDT
PEOPLE TEND TO FORGET, MAYBE IT'S SENILITY ! LOOK AT THE MURDERER TEDDY KENNEDY! BILL STILL IS A PERVERT FOR WHAT HE DID TO MONICA AND HE WAS IMPEACHED, BUT OBAMA'S UNINFORMED POLICIES WILL AFFECT OUR NATION FOR GENERATIONS...SOMEBODY HAS TO PAY AND IT WILL BE OUR KIDS!

I don't care if the President is white, black, yellow, red, or pink with purple polka dots as long as his goal is the betterment of America as a whole, and not just a few select groups of Americans. All I've seen Obama do is take vacations and spend money like a sailor on shore leave. Personally, I think Clinton was a smart man and a good President. Sure he lied--about something that was none of America's business to start with. Think he was the only President in history to get his rocks off in the White House? I don't think so. Is he a womanizer? Yeah..and so was John F. Kennedy. I don't think FDR was a saint, either--he surrounded himself with women "friends". If Hillary didn't divorce Bill's ass after lying about Monica, then who am I to complain? That whole impeachment thing was a joke to begin with and should have been played out on Dr. Ruth instead of America's halls of justice. JMHO, of course.

White is important to me but putting that aside what good has come from this administration? The only ones seeing any benefits are the ones who already have them. The middle class is going down and down. We can't keep this up - salaries going down taxes and other essentials going up. Just won't work. The powers to be are either too narrow minded and selfish to see it or just plain stupid. I personally will not vote for an incumbent and that goes for local offices too. 40% of the people who voted for OB had never voted before in their lives and God please put them back in the woodwork where they crawled out of. Nothing is being done to end hunger and homelessness and in this great land of ours no one should be hungry or homeless. I bet Harry Truman is turning over in his grave.
killowen | Jul 25, 2010, 09:07 AM EDT
He's white for one - he is featured in the upcoming royal wedding of his daughter - the wedding of the decade. England's symbols are secure. He serves the crown mightily - surprised he hasn't been knighted by now. What Obamna managed to achieve in such a short time - granted he was an on the job learner - the envy of a black man's achievements is an added factor. Can't wait to see whom the powers that be picks for us next time. Flynton they luv youse.

Since Bill Clinton is a cheat and a LIAR, what does that make Obama??
KathyCallahan | Jul 24, 2010, 03:50 PM EDT
Personal? I don't know your name.
Monsoonman | Jul 24, 2010, 11:12 AM EDT
Funny how some are so thin skinned when their heroes feet of clay are pointed out. Before you start with the personal attacks do you want to point out where in my comments I have misspoke?(tm bill clinton) He was impeached was he not? He did lie many many times, did he not? We have had 19 disastrous months of hope and change, have we not? (unless you are on the government teat). Since the real unemployment figure in the private sector is close to 17% I do not consider this administration a success in any stretch of the imagination. So stick to the facts and stop the personal attacks.
KathyCallahan | Jul 24, 2010, 10:54 AM EDT
Nostalgic nostalgic? Bill Clinton never left the scene. Funny how it's so easy to critique Clinton from a dark and empty room. So what have you done lately that's worth writing about on line? Knock yourself out -locally, state wide, USA, beyond. Do tell. That would be nothing short of an exercise in authenticity. Call yourself out under your name.
Monsoonman | Jul 24, 2010, 10:25 AM EDT
Funny how nostalgic some get for an impeached prevaricator after 19 disastrous months of hope and change.
KathyCallahan | Jul 24, 2010, 09:42 AM EDT
Bill Clinton Hillary is president from the toes up. and thirds, fourths... All he has to do is keep on showing up and keep on coming back to the White House.
