Yes, children Sarah Palin really can become president of the United States.
Take a look at yesterday's CNN poll.
It shows Mitt Romney just three points ahead of Irish American Palin right before the kickoff for the 2012 republican nomination which begins the day after the November mid-terms.
That three points is within the margin of error.
It is also within the margin of error of those pundits who say that Palin has no chance to be selected.
They are dead wrong and this poll bears that out
This poll says otherwise, as do a slew of results, including last week's primary in Colorado which showed the grassroots activists in the party are not going to settle for the status quo and whoever head office is pushing.
That is bad news indeed, for Mitt Romney who is the anointed one.
He is a very skilled politician, who was an excellent governor of Massachusetts and did an amazing job with the Olympic Winter Games in his native Utah.
By right he should be the front runner.
But he's stuck in neutral, not ever drawing the kind of love from the grassroots that Palin can engender just by showing up.
Americans are mad as hell over what has happened to their economy and that throws the 2012 race wide open at this point.
Palin has a realistic shot if she decides to run.
Right now she'd be my favorite to win the Republican nomination.
I've written this before and now the CNN poll bears it out.
In this current deeply unsettled political climate President Palin is not far-fetched at all.
Remember you read it here.

Well plasticman....anyone?
Monsoonman | Aug 17, 2010, 09:26 PM EDT
Plasticpaddy: it is said that his ghost writer is william ayers, so i am not sure what i read that is purported to be by him, is actually by him. so i am asking all of the people who think he is a genius to point me in the direction to where I can see any of his school transcripts...Don't you think it is a bit odd that he has legally sealed all of his school transcripts?
plasticpaddy | Aug 17, 2010, 06:16 PM EDT
Monsoonman - Goolgle what he has written academically, he was the editor of the Harvard Law reviw. I need not do your research for you, I have read some of his and his wifes writings which are very interesting. I actually don't agree with Obama, I am much more to the left than him but I can still acknowledge that he is an intelligent man even if I agree with him on almost nothing!
ganjadec | Aug 17, 2010, 09:47 AM EDT
Brings to mind the words lunatics and asylum....
msdsandpiper | Aug 16, 2010, 03:44 AM EDT
So many stupid people share so many stupid comments on this site. And, then there are the intelligent ones... I look forward to the day when Patrick Roberts writes that Nominee Sarah Palin is his favorite to win the Presidency. Yes, Mr. Roberts, remember to share it here!
kevinhayes | Aug 16, 2010, 01:13 AM EDT
This is a total fantasy. The American people will never elect an ignorant fool like Palin. I do hope, however, that the GOP gives her their nomination - bring her on in 2012!
2BorNot2B | Aug 16, 2010, 12:34 AM EDT
@James Murphy -- Why don't you stick to what you know; go get your Brit bucked and uneven teeth fixed and let us Americans take care of the business of running our own country with whomever we think will 'bail us out' from a commie take-over. -- It's not enough we've got idiots electing incompetent socialists on this side of the Atlantic. We don't need -or wantd- the opinion of meddlers from the other side of the pond. Get our drift?
2BorNot2B | Aug 16, 2010, 12:24 AM EDT
Sez wizardofbooze:" The American electorate is the dumbest on earth" -- Wiz, you might just be right; this is why we now have an arrogant lying imbecile Soros puppet in the WH, and quite possibly you're feeling guilty for having contributed to his ascent to power. -- But don't worry, November is just around the corner and he'll be out soon enough, maybe sooner than we think if he continues to put his foot in his purple mouth. However, if you're not a citizen and did not vote, which is quite possible since every foreigner on this website seems to have an opinion on who should be running America, then perhaps you should concentrate on how and why the 'Celtic tiger' lost its stripes, and how you can get off your arse and find them.
2BorNot2B | Aug 16, 2010, 12:09 AM EDT
Shirleyo-- And your point about rattling off the names of rulers of countries no one gives a rat's patootie was...?--Oh, I get it.. you're boning-up on your knowledge of inconsequential countries, in case someone asks you to participate in one of those idiotic morning TV shows only bored fat women watch. -- Either that, or you were trying to dazzle us with what's left of your brain cells before Alzheimers hits, right?-- Either way you failed.-- Now, if instead you can rattle off the name of the capitals of the 57 American states 'oBombo the really, really Smart' said he visited... you might yet impress us.
IrishEddy | Aug 15, 2010, 08:50 PM EDT
I'm sorry to say if George W. Bush can be "installed" as President so can Sarah Palin. She'll do the ever popular, cut taxes for the rich, start wars and blame everthing on the previous administration and not take any responsibility for anything that went wrong. She's the perfect American President.
Monsoonman | Aug 15, 2010, 07:19 PM EDT
Oh plasticpaddy, you say obama is smart and educated? Do you know this because you have seen what his grades were in school? If so would you please point me to where I can view his transcripts. Every time I have tried to see them, I am blocked access by judicial orders.
darceyt | Aug 15, 2010, 06:03 PM EDT
Not matter what you believe, Sarah Palin is intelligent. she is a down to earth person that truly believes in America and the rights of the people. She would make a great president!
plasticpaddy | Aug 15, 2010, 05:49 PM EDT
ha ha ha, her policies are what count - did you ever see the guardian newspaper reports on her policies - they couldnt find any, not a single person interviewed could point to one policy position she has. ha ha ha ha ha. Once again 2bornot... you do not know what a socialist is, clealry, Obama is a keynesian capitalist, left of centre at best. To call someone a socialist they must actually be one for it to work, just a heads up
plasticpaddy | Aug 15, 2010, 05:47 PM EDT
dessieglyn, Obama may be bad, I actually agree but hes smart and educated, Palin is a neanderthal, mentally and morally deficient, in capable of critical thought. Really dessie, really!
kathrynk | Aug 15, 2010, 05:44 PM EDT
Why don't you stick to Irish politics and leave your opinion of American politics at home. I know several "soccer moms" who would vote for her, but they, and she, know little of what it takes to run the country. How can someone who bailed out on her office as Governor be trusted to stick out a term as President. Well, maybe if she has someone telling her exactly what to do... but then we've had that for a few decades now...and we don't like it. Too bad that popularity contests decide presidents here. Especially since the "big bucks" folks finance the contestant they want to win. Maybe someday things will change. Soon I hope.
2BorNot2B | Aug 15, 2010, 05:18 PM EDT
madelane -- Why don't you get that 'influx of the disgusted's to Irish shores started. Would we hate to lose you? Yah.. whatever! - And don't let the door hit you on the way out.
2BorNot2B | Aug 15, 2010, 05:14 PM EDT
@James Murphy -- Why don't you stick with what you know, go get your Brit bucked and rotting teeth fixed, and let us Americans take care of the business of running our own country with whomever we think will 'bail us out' from a commie take-over. -- It's enough that we've got idiots electing incompetent socialists on this side of the Atlantic, we don't need, or want, the opinion of meddlers from the other. dessieglynn | Aug 15, 2010, 03:41 PM EDT
She could not be any worse than what we have.!!!!
madelane | Aug 15, 2010, 02:53 PM EDT
If Sarah Palin wins the Presidency, this country will loose, completely!! She is an idiot!! And the only reason she is where she is, is because McCain was looking for a woman to run with him. And he was the one we have to thank for opening up 'Pandora's Box' She has no knowledge of any important issues. And from what I've seen, she doesn't want to know. If she should win, Ireland will have an influx of disgusted Americans who would rather live elsewhere than to see an idiot destroy their country.
jonahsark | Aug 15, 2010, 01:56 PM EDT
I love her and champion her. She's real and the empty, Pinot Gris-sipping chatterboxes of the world can't stand that she is a self-made conservative woman with a Northern-tier accent. Get over yourselves, fools. Her policies are what counts, and she is ship shape on that.
JamesMurphy | Aug 15, 2010, 01:25 PM EDT
Alright now, everybody, after me, let's call her for what she is: Sarah Palin is a muddleheaded bimbo former beauty queen from Alaska's bush league Bible belt. She couldn't, as we Brits like to say, accurately, of similar such imbeciles, couldn't organize a boozeup in a brewery.
2BorNot2B | Aug 15, 2010, 01:10 PM EDT
ciarrai -- Patrick Roberts is a flaming libtard who likes to throw kerosene on the Palin-hatred fires, just to inflame the passions of people like you, and those on your heart rending story of the bare-bones bachelor farmers (gay perchance?). -- I did not have enough Kleenex to dry the tears after reading your pre-amble to the Palin slam, which I knew was inevitably coming. -- Funny thing how Pat, you, and a host of other Palin-incensed retards love to fling darts from the vantage point of the manure pile you inhabit, toward others whose political leanings do not seem to agree with yours, all the while affecting a self-anointed übber-intellectual tone that will surely wilt any claims or reason those yokels who dare vote for 'that woman' might have! -- And they might just be justified... that is, if you had not voted in an inexperienced socialist imbecile who does not have a thought or action that does not originate outside the Media Matters latrine. -- Don't worry, Palin will not be a contender this time around. There are many others for the moment who have her common sense, and her perfectly in tune with the needs and values of We the People. -- She is still young, unlike Billary the Shrew, she'll get her chance.
tanseyj | Aug 15, 2010, 12:48 PM EDT
Palin has been bashed ever since McCain introduced her. It has been uncalled for! She is a smart woman who has a right to run and let the electorite vote the way they please. She and her family have received much bashing from the left wing and the media that was not deserved. Give her a chance to prove herself. Many more people in US believe in her that the press reports. Stop the bashing just because she is a pretty woman. Notice that Hillary did not get this kind of treatment about her family? Politics as usual in US!
ciarrai | Aug 15, 2010, 11:15 AM EDT
Patrick Roberts: President Palin isn't far fetched at all? Put down that Kool-Aid and listen well, my son. I am an American citizen whose mother was born in Kerry many moons ago. I have been to Ireland in excess of 15 times over the years. On my first trip, I visited my mother's birthplace. Living at the place out away from town were a few bachelor farmers who were living a bare bones style of life. I was surprised by the fact that one had a subscription to an international news magazine and knew everything about the political scene in America and around the world. So many people I have met in Ireland have a breadth of knowledge and an intelligent curiousity. Sarah Palin has none of that. The minute she opens her pretty mouth you get this God awful, shrill voice and absolutely nothing in the way of an original thought. She makes Bush look like a Mensa member. It is a tribute to the utter superficiality of those that support her. She is a good looking woman, but should that qualify her to lead the U.S. in these tough times? Of course not! It is laughable. She couldn't handle Alaska. Why did she leave before her term was finished? To cash in on her celebrity. Finally, I truly believe the following: if you hate the USA you will vote for Sarah Palin(better to vote for Michael Palin).

Like, Odummy has brains. He's just the mouthpiece for a George S. and his committee for One World Government.

Can she see Russia from the White House.

If the current 0ne is such a great leader....... how come hope 'n change has become dope 'n charge
carrickcourt | Aug 15, 2010, 10:27 AM EDT
My worse nightmare, President Sarah Palin. If she had any brains she would not be too scary.
cartersmate35 | Aug 15, 2010, 09:44 AM EDT
I am Irish through and through, but I pray this woman does not become the first female president of our country! I can think of many more Irish-Americans who would be wonderful leaders for our country...including Barak Obama!
zagloba | Aug 15, 2010, 09:38 AM EDT
Tragically, it IS possible that Palin could be elected in America. Most Americans are political idiots, who love to be catered to, and don't put 5 minutes of attention into any issue. They like simple messages, nice sound bites, and can thus be lied to with impunity. This, Palin understands well. She is, however, a true lightweight on most issues, and shows no desire to improve. In that, she reflects her followers.
killowen | Aug 15, 2010, 09:28 AM EDT
she's a nut job - but having so many out there she'll do fine.
Monsoonman | Aug 14, 2010, 05:31 PM EDT
There is now a movement on to erect a militiaman headquarters and monument building next to the Oklahoma Federal building. Why not the militia are legally entitled to assemble and congregate. Oh and the Shinto shrine next to the still sunk and wrecked USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor. The Klu Klux Klan can erect a headquarters building in harlem, next to a Jesse Jackso Rainbow Coalition office. I am sure eric holder and the feds will be eager to protect their "rights" too.
Monsoonman | Aug 14, 2010, 12:26 PM EDT
"Americans are mad as hell over what has happened to their economy and that throws the 2012 race wide open at this point."..Mr. Roberts, you barely struck the pinata with that one. America has woken up to what utter corruption we let into the whitehouse/congress/senate and the pendulum is going to swing wildly back on the left, with a vengeance. The 20 ton boulder that just broke the camels back was our president saying it is ok for the muslims to build a mosque near ground zero, it is their "right". Obama missed the pinata and struck the hornets nest instead. He and his cohorts are going to wish he stayed on the golf course or basketball court that day.
murphy66 | Aug 14, 2010, 12:19 PM EDT
shirley'o, were Groucho Marx president, those heads of state you mention would shut up and listen. America rules!
shirleyo | Aug 14, 2010, 12:02 PM EDT
Sarah Palin as President of the United States of America? Can't you just hear her rambling while talking foreign policy history and present, and developing world strategies, saying 'you betcha'to what sounds good to her? KaQueen Elizabeth II of the UK, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, German President Horst Köhler, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Mexican President Filipe Calderon, Slovenian President Danilo Türk, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, Turkish President Abdullah Gul, East Timor President Jose Ramos-Horta, Afghanistan's Karzai...etc. She'll have their rapt attention. Oh yeah.
sodakhic | Aug 14, 2010, 11:29 AM EDT
When she resigned she said she was headed for a higher calling. Obviously what she has been doing this last year is a brilliant plan to get to that calling. She is way ahead of where Reagan was at this point and with her message and charisma all she has to do is say "I'm in" and all hell will break loose. Thank you President Palin.
