Is President Obama a Democrat?
His refusal to back the Rhode Island candidate for governor from his own party certainly raises the question.
It is not as if Frank Caprio is a hopeless outsider, he's actually neck and neck in the polls.
Not, it's because Obama had promised his opponent, Lincoln Chafee, former Republican senator that he would not oppose him because Chafee supported him for president.
(In a state in which Obama would have to have been deeply unpopular not to win anyway)
It is precisely the kind of backroom deal that Obama used to scorn and point the finger at others for doing.
Now he's right up there with the rest of the smoke filled room boys.
Farnk Caprio was dead right to tell the president to 'shove it" during his visit to Rhode Island.
And Democrats everywhere must ask a searching question.
if Obama is not going to support fellow Democrats why on earth is he their president?
Obama cannot have it both ways, slamming Democrats for running from his agenda when he does his own version of the old boy network rules.
It is a bad situation for Obama and let's hope Caprio wins so he can embarrass him good when he takes office.

glorybe1929...It amazes me how one person can fit so much misinformation into one post. Are you joking? And,BTW who is "you know who" I'd like to know because so far Obama's gotten healthcare for 30 millon people who previously didn't have it. He covered people with pre existing conditions and made sure kids could stay on their parents policy till age 26.He went after WallSt to regulate them so they couldn't financially rape the middle class again and ask for another bail out.He has kept the vast majority of his campaign promises; if you even knew what they were. And finally, all this he's a muslim socialist crap is because the GOP couldn't come after him with facts, so they came after him with smear.

Obama is no friend to Repub. Dem. or Independant. He is not left or right. Look at his Czars & old church, along with his college days & quotes from that time frame. All sides better figure it out before it's to late.

I didn't really understand before why Caprio told the President to shove it, but now I get it. In his place I would probably have done the same.

I did, and still do, support Obama, but he's far from perfect. I have issues with a number of things he's done, or failed to do. Healthcare should be better. Don't ask Don't tell and DOMA are an embarrassment, etc. But this was exactly the kind of thing he's critical of 'career politicians' for doing and it's what really pisses off his base.

It is all a moot point anyway. Its over. The old white guys need another four years to financially cleanout the US. They pay attention to demographics. There will be 47 million dead whites in the next 11 years, and there are no white kids to replace them. There are plenty of golden retreivers though. The country has a population of 309 million, with an infrastructure that will only support 190 million. Regardless of who is in office, it is not coming back. The store has been given away. Unfortunately , we do know what is coming down the road.....

Obama is out for "you know who" and he could care less about what Caprio said.
Obama said anything anybody wanted to hear during the campaign, to get elected to be Pres. He BS'd the world. We know better now.. He is not a good Pres. He is a divider of every person in this country. he has proved it just this week with his ranting about Rep's being enemies. He has never tried to reach out to any one, including his own party, if it didn't suit him. How sick can you get? I think he set up the Larry King's interview with Justice's Thomas' old girl friend . She said all the same things Obama said this week about Reps.that they are his enemies. Obama is not qualified to be pres.

It gets to me that people refer to some political 'Party' all the time. How about, instead referring to the 'person' and his word.
Insane Hussein is anti-American, pro-Muslim and a Socialist for sure! He needs to be deported back to Kenya, his brithplace...

Obama never promised single payer health care so no lie there. f reaching across the aisle. righties have refused and Obama biggest mistake was not telling them to f off a long time ago.
Mr. Roberts, are you aware that Caprio tried to get the Republican to drop out of the race and even considered running as a Republican.
The real disgraceful person nationally is Willie Clinton who is coming to campaign for that bum Caprio.

Obama scuttled the single payer option in health care reform in a similar private deal, but continued to pretend it was still on the table. There's only one word to describe such duplicity - it's reprehensible.
I don't think that Republicans are making headway on the strength of their ideas - they don't have any. Republican success comes about because Obama has turned out to be a business-as-usual type of politician. When we catch him in a lie, we have to wonder what else he's telling us that's simply untrue.
There doesn't seem to be any reason for us to be in Afghanistan. The fact that Obama chose to escalate that conflict suggests another secret deal.
