Obama finally lashes back at Donald Trump -- and about time too

I am delighted to see that Barack Obama got down off his high horse for once to slam Donald Trump last night.

For weeks the loud and profane Trump has been hammering away at Obama. Last night he had to sit and take it

It was at the White House Correspondent's annual dinner and Obama was in fine fettle skewering Trump who was present.

Obama said Trump was delighted that the birth cert issue was now solved because he could now find out whether "the moon landing had taken place' and " where are Biggie and Tupac", two rap stars killed in suspicious circumstances in 1996 that some believe are still alive somewhere.

He also said that Trump had shown presidential skill to fire actor Gary Busey instead of Meat Loaf from his celebrity "Apprentice" TV show.

Obama cracked: "These are the types of decisions that would keep me up at night. Well handled, sir."

Obama then offered to show his live birth video, which was a clip from the Disney film, "The Lion King."

Trump laughed at some of the president's jokes but the joke was on him this time especially when comedian Seth Meyers said "Donald Trump often talks about running as a Republican, which is surprising," ...I just assumed he was running as a joke."

Nice to see the Donald taking it on the chin. Well said sirs.

The strange by-product of this issue is the interruption of "Celebrity Apprentice" on the night of the Osama killing. There were seconds left on the announcement of just whom "The Donald" would fire. Since the president did not speak for some 45 minutes, it appeared to be intentionally aimed at Trump. Obviously, Trump has gotten "under the skin" of the president. If Trump is so wrong in his claims, why does the president not "step over him" like a squirrel hit by a car in the road. It is obvious that Trump has "struck a nerve" of truth with his claims.

I see here that the President is thin-skinned. This man has endured the most sustained smear campaign I have ever seen. After two years of that, I have never heard him tell me to hate any person or group of people. Ever. He is a good example for you "Christians" to follow.

francisquinn and feeneykc, Of course Obama has a larger ego than Trump. Obama is the most powerful man on this planet. And, he gets the credit for killing Bin Laden. I think Obama is not wasting his time with these cutting remarks. The president has to show leadership when national discussions becomes so side-tracked with non-issues such as the one(s) that Trump is raising. We are in very perilous times. In 2008, business went away. Citibank, which handles much of our international business and trade accounts, was about to close its banking ops. If that happened--and it almost did,--our major US corporations would have retrenched by closing out their international operations. Catapiller, Exxon, GE, Honeywell, .... would have released much of their people, our balance of payment accounts would have gone through the roof, and quite possibly the dollar would no longer have been the currency used to settle oil contract deliveries. In short, we nearly went down the tubes in the Fall of 2008. Obama, Bernanke, and Geithner have been trying to engineer a recovery but business in this country can and likely will be ruined if people remain blissfully unaware of threats to our welfare. The petty issues raised by marginal politicians do a disservice to this country. One thinks that much of the radio talk-show rants are intended only to make people angry over the most trivial things, as though there is a conspiracy to divert people's attention from our very delicate economic plight: Yes, residential real estate prices crashed, but there is the commercial real estate debt hanging out there. If we were to pull together, take pride in our country's progress in making our way out of this muck, then possibly we can avoid the second or third shoe dropping. But, would you rather concentrate of whose ego is greater, Donald's or Obama's?

I believe Obama is completely without class, his needling wasn't humorous, it was overbearing and hateful. Had a white president mocked a black candidate in the same manner he would have been ridiculed unto his last day. The birth certificate issue is being squashed but it's far from being settled and history will eventually side with Trump.

I notice Obama does this when he has a large crowd and the other person is in a position not to talk back. He won't do it face to face. He did the same thing to the supreme court justice when he knew the justice couldn't talk back. I think he is a cowardly person.

Does anyone see The Sheer Arrogance of Obama in all of this, he could have just produced it before he was elected and ended the speculation. Should the President not have better things to occupy his mind? I would suggest that figuring out a way to avoid borrowing 188 Million dollare per hour would be of more use to America than petty point scoring.

Narcistic!!! That old saying-- it takes one to know one-- applies to both O'bumma and Trummp. O'bamma is thin skinned-- his reaction to Trump is a Psych 101 case study. The Apachee have a saying-- That guy is a waste of skin- That really applies to O'bumma. He has never held a job, never met a paroll- we still know practically nothing about him. How did he end up in that job?? Trump did say one thing that makes sense- Carl Rove brought us O'bumma. As for Trump, his history, failures and successes are easily found. We have enough information on Trump to know we do not want him in that office. Now, we are constantly discovering information on Obumma' information sufficient enough, like Trump, to make the same decision about him in the next election.
