Mike Huckabee's expected departure from the Republican race for president opens the door for Sarah Palin again.
Palin has gone quiet after the media sizzle around her died and transferred to Donald Trump.
But with Trump fading faster than a losing 'Apprentice' competitor and Huckabee now looking like he will drop out, Palin is suddenly back in this race if she wants.
Huckabee, with his strong evangelical roots, was a natural to win Iowa and Palin enjoys a comparable level of support among those voters.
Contrast that with Mitt Romney who is held in deep suspicion in the first caucus state, not only because of his moderate politics but also his Mormon religion.
That only leaves Palin as the evangelical choice as none of the other contenders have seriosu traction with those voters.
A win in Iowa could galvanize the Palin campaign heading into New Hampshire in January.
That would be a turn up for the books, but with the Republican race so volatile anything can happen.
Mitt Romney will not be the clear front runner if and when Huckabee announces he is stepping down, but I have believed for some time that he has a very soft core of support.
As usual 'savior' canddiates such as Mitch Daniels are being spoken about as well as Jeb Bush but I feel the winner will come form the present field.
Which is why I think Palin is so intriguing once again.
She has differentiation and a hard core base of support something no other candidate really has with Huckabee out.
I think she is back in with a real chance to win.

Palin won't run but she is a hell of a good cheer leader for the GOP. The GOP has got to get hopping and get a serious continder or Obama will take the prize again. Another 4 years of unrest and accomplish nothing if he does.

Palin bailed on finishing her term as governor of Alaska - period. She may be a good cheerleader for some, but POTUS? Regardless of Obama and anyone else running, the question for me is - is this person qualified for the job? My personal opinion is "no." This is America and I respect others who disagree, but there's no way I'd vote for her.

Palin's 15 minutes are over, boys and girls. But can you imagine putting this country in the hands of that dingbat? Give me a break. Any questions?

If the Yanks want to re-elect Obama, nominate Palin.

Palin will never run, yet she has created a strong and important role in the GOP. Palin gets out there like a “rabid cheerleader”, feeding the base all the fear and delusional smears, while allowing the "real GOP" candidates to keep their hands clean while the damage is being done.

Palin? Anything that helps Palin helps Obama more. What a joke that you people speak of her seriously.

Even if Palin won Iowa (doubtful) she'd get stomped in New Hampshire. We don't like her Back East.

The general American electorate is not very smart, the presidents elected after 'Nixon' were more or less all of poor quality. Now there is a president without any political and/or administrative experience, although he has good oratory skills, and that took him to the White house.
Sarah Palin is a charming good looking woman, although she has made many silly public speeches so far, her appearance and her charming smiles will get her to the White House should she wish to enter the ring.
At the next election in Russia (coming up soon) ex- president Putin is bound to be elected again, and in terms of foreign policy, Ms Palin inexperience will be exploited in full by Putin for Russians advantage.
In addition we have the current problems in the Middle East which is affecting the whole world, how would little 'Sarah' deal with all of that, after all the US is currently the only global super power, with a tremendous global responsibility, thus we need a clever, smart, and efficient white House administration, otherwise China and India will take advantage of this.
The Us should have some smart fellows from Wall Street to offer themselves for an US presidency election and get to the White House as a result.

Gorgeous, gracious, gifted Gov. Sarah Palin is easily the most qualified, competent, and charismatic Presidential hopeful from either Party. Her political star is ascendant.

Am from USA and have followed Palin over 2 and 1/2 years. "The Lies of Sarah Palin: The Untold Story Behind Her Relentless Quest for Power," by Geoffrey Dunn, St. Martin's Press, May 2011, was released this past week. Along with the upcoming books by former McCain campaign aide, Frank Bailey; noted author Joe McGinness; failed son-in-law-to-be, Levi Johnston; and a well known media type who is planning to publish the expose' of Palin's #Babygate deception--we in the U.S. who have followed this crazy woman are going to see her get her comeuppance.

Truth IS: Palin May have more power on the out-side...This Lady is Monitored: all knows what is up with every member of her family- when she talks people listen!!!!
What-Ever may be the Candidate; This Election is to save the country. Leave the Social & Religious Wars until You Get Elected & the Country is Stable...
Now: Like Gov Christie says; what ONE believes is none of the Obama Press(MSM(5th Column))s business...
The Founding Fathers were not Constantine Type Christians Anyways. Except for a couple; they were ± Gnostic Christians (Rosicrucian, Freemason, etc; more akin to Zen.
Health Care; will need to hang on until our dumb-down cycle in schools bottom out. NO amount of money can fix damages of what Hormone Grown Fats, Refined Sugars & Drug Companies Pushing Drugs can Inflict On Us...
Labels are used to push agendas, Bush is a Liberal: in fact many of Obama’s Policies came from Bush, like(Immigration, Bail-Outs & Mid-East Wars)...

Electros has a handle on Palin, way to go, 2/3rd's of the nation think the same about this dipstick.
Lets face it, she is about as religious as the back end of a bus and a killer to boot. Good christians dont kill! Further more she has no idea on how to educate her kids on the facts of life and why or how to make sure they dont get pregnant.
And you believe this person should be your president, give me a break. At least some of the men running have a few more feathers up top.

This article is "just hoping", not "journalism" but political commentary about nothing. A complete waist of time to read. Trump will not run, Palin will not run, Daniels will not run, but Obama WILL BE DEFEATED because of his demeaning of American values, it's borders, and HIS lack of sound Economic policies. He will be defeated due to HIS childish immaturity and narcissism, HIS Federal Reserve policies, HIS weakness of Foreign policy, HIS lack of foresight for an independent Energy policy, the loss of HIS independent voter support, HIS having a Marxist redistributive game playing, HIS lack of genuine concern for the job producers whom he calls "rich". Good riddens to the most expensive Presidency in U.S. history. My children, grandchildren, and Great-grandchildren thank you for your "change we can believe in" where all are equalized into the poverty of your Bondage of the elite ... the Cabal of thieves, the "political class".
