Don't count the Kennedys out of running for elected office is the message loud and clear from one of the most promising young pretenders.

Anthony Kennedy Shriver, 45, said Friday. “I don’t count anybody out. I’m still young. But the time’s got to be right.”

Shriver,pictured above,is the founder of the highly successful Best Buddies International which fosters one-to-one friendships between people with and without intellectual disabilities may seek office in Florida in the near future friends say.

First however,he told the Boston Herald he will think long and hard about it

“People think hard about it,” he said. “Marriages can be strained. I think a lot of us want to avoid having our kids deal with the things that we had to deal with.”

However, the son of Eunice Shriver says his generation's turn may well come. “It’s not like my mom’s generation is the only one with talent,”

Shriver lives in Miami Beach with his wife and five children. He says you have to be born to politics.

“If you don’t have a candidate that can articulate that and connect with voters, you’ve got to throw the key away.”

Show me a moral Kennedy who has made it up the ladder through intelligence, dogged determination and against all odds, instead of having political positions given to them because they are a kennedy....and I will show you the next president. Until then the kennedy clan will be wandering the desert, eating their manna falling from the kennedy trusts.

So with all of the kennedy scandals, criminal acts, drunkeness, drug addledness and general dysfunctionality, you put them on a royal pedestal and dream of the day they will be coronated king/queen of the USA. Yet you have the hypocrisy to say Sarah Palins kids behavior would bar her from being president? Don't you see your double standard or are you too blinded by your partisanship?

Since the Kennedy name seem to drive some people crazy, then maybe Anthony Shriver and everyone else should drop the Kennedy part and ask what this particular man can do for our country. Prejudice, against a race or a family is always short sighted and wrong. Think objectively and don't condemn the man because of his relatives.

Yes the Shrivers were a decent lot, but this whole "royalty" thing about some of these familys is so anti American...We don't need royalty or dynastys to rule us that's why we had the revolutionary war. We got the best politicians money can buy. The chinese had it figured out long ago, usually the tycoon is the epitome of a family after that the generations go downhill, it is classic, the chinese call the cycle mandarin-beggar-thief-mandarin-beggar-thief

Shriver had a wonderful Mother and Father who worked hard to help others (Remember the Peace corp?) and instilled that in their children during their family meals each evening. I would love to see what he could do. The Kennedys are a large family as you know. It's not fair to judge them all by the misdeeds of a few.

The Kennedy's time has long passed. We had the amazing John F. Kennedy, and then Robert. Both were fit for office, but since we've seen fat, drunken murderer, corrupt Teddy, and the drunken, druggie Patrick, the rapist murdering sons, cousins and nephews, the deranged, spoiled daughters. Sorry, but no. The US isn't a monarchy, there's no "born to it", in all candor, I'd recommend that Shriver take up that dual Irish citizenship, and run for office there, as the Irish are far more easily duped than American citizens, at least we've woken up.

rebelforce-I seem to remember that one recently decided not to run for office. I was trying to recall if he also had a drinking problem like uncle. AND there was that one while in Florida that seemed to force himself on a young woman. I guess the younger generation of the Kennedys have already started making their mark lest you forget. I suspect you chose to remember what you want to remember.
