Israeli radio and TV Channel 2 are reporting that Israeli navy ships have stopped and boarded the Rachel Corrie, the Irish ship seeking to run the Gaza blockade.
The ship was boarded at 5.45 a.m local time as they were about 35 miles from their target destination.
There are no reports of injuries or scuffles on board and it is not clear where the Israelis are taking the ship.
Unconfirmed reports had it heading towards the port of Ashdod in Israel.
Five Irish nationals, including Nobel Peace Prize winner Mairead Maguire, are on board the ship.Earlier, the IDF had claimed the"Rachel Corrie" had ignored an invitation to unload its cargo at an Israeli port and chose to continue its trip toward Gaza.
The Israeli Defense Forces stated that despite radioing the ship, its organizers "chose to ignore the invitation to dock at the Ashdod port where the cargo could be unloaded and transferred to the Gaza Strip upon inspection."

*Allow the president to invade a neighboring nation, whenever he shall deem it necessary to repel an invasion, and you allow him to do so whenever he may choose to say he deems it necessary for such a purpose—and you allow him to make war at pleasure.
~Abraham Lincoln
Since when did civilians in International waters bringing aid through an illegal blockade become enemy combatants? Get out the LABEL Maker,
Mairead lets have a whip around and buy WX a P TOUCH label maker, he seems to function better when he has everyone labeled :-)

You do NOT put enemy combatants captured in combat in civilian courts....PERIOD. You saw what happened to Obama and his nitwit AG Holder when they suggested it. It was almost Armageddon. Trying Terror suspects in court. You are out of your liberal mind.

PS over the course of history GREAT SERVICE MEN and WOMEN OF AMERICA have committed crimes against humanity and used the uniform to hide behind their actions. I speak of My Lai, I speak of the treatment of human beings at the end of WWII and in teh modern wars america finds itself in. All armies commit crimes under the guise of War (Bloody SUnday for example) THere are elements in every group of men that will choose an illegal path! But no group is beyond reproach or criticism!!

To disagree with a course of action undertaken by Israel does not mean I or any one else including your President - are anti-semitic. I base my anger at Israel on their continued disregard for international law (and I do not like the US's conduct in this area either) And the blatant hypocricy of Israel who sends its citizens into other countries on passports obtained illegally to execute a suspect. If Israel is convinced that any one is terrorist they shoudl arrest them and try them in a court of law!! (As should the US). To enter a ship in international waters and shoot first with an attempt to arrest is hypocricy illegal and That does not make me or shuvonn or anyone else an anti semite!!

Glad to see that Facebook Group calling for the death of Haneen Zoabi has been taken down, apparently that is how they dole out THEIR democracy in Israel. Got to see some of the interviews of the passengers of the flotilla, who told the crowds awaiting for them in Heathrow airport, upon landing they told of their passports being thrown in the ocean, the destruction of their cell phones, of not being allowed consular access (Israel seems to have denied consular access to British and Australian passport holders, looks like they took out out their rage on the countries who expelled their consular officers over the illegal passport usage) Maybe it was lucky for those Irish passport holders that they have not yet expelled the consular officers because they were not denied consular access.

And I will not let you defile the memories of the great men and women that serve in the US military with a radical loon like Rachel Corrie. Those men and women fight for their country not their ridiculous political ideology. I take that as a personal insult and it further proves your ignorance and stupidity.

I would really like to know whose ass you pull all of that BS out of, because nothing of what you said is true. None of it. You have no clue at all about the military layovers in Shannon, and you have no clue at all about the Israelis that landed on that vessel. Fully armed my ass. That is an outright lie and you know it.

Turkey and Israel run joint military exercises, and they are allies. I bet the Turkish president is NOT an Israeli fan at the moment, 9 Turkish dead in international waters? Piracy at its best, apparently 3.5 million in cash, and equipment stolen from the vessel. AND some of the credit cards STOLEN from the Mavi Marmara passengers were USED in Israel, if that ain't piracy what is? Even if you do not like to hear that, it is the TRUTH. Obama is not anti-Semitic, he is just NOT willing to toe the line like previous presidents when Israeli promises are broken to him, like the new settlements begun when Biden was visiting despite promises to the contrary. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Tuesday that "the situation in Gaza is unsustainable and unacceptable, Israel's legitimate security needs must be met, just as the Palestinians' legitimate needs for sustained humanitarian assistance and regular access to reconstruction materials must also be assured," And the WORLD might have been able to see how they DID react except the IDF STOLE the cameras, memory sticks, computers, etc. And perhaps the IDF could have handled it better rather than shooting first, tear gas, dropping out of helicopters, full combat gear, fully armed, wearing masks, in International waters, chances are ya land on the deck of a ship in the middle of the night YOU (IDF) put yourself in danger. Why don't YOU go to Israel then you can be fully engaged in your own PHILO-Semitism. Your statement that Rachel Corrie placed herself in danger by her radical ideology, is the same as saying that any US soldier serving abroad (YA know the ones that stop over to refuel in Shannon) is placing themselves in danger.

Yes we all know that they were on a Turkish vessel. And you continue to pound the drum of them being an ally of Israel. Did you know the Turkish president is not a fan of Israel, kind of like our anti Semitic President? And Hillary Clinton has not asked of anything of the sort. (Not that it matters what she wants, she is as big an idiot as Obama) She has gone on record as saying Israel had the right to defend themselves and while the deaths were tragic, they were necessary . I'd like to see how you handle your self when you are ruthlessly attacked and beaten and out numbered. What would you resort to to protect your life? Of course it sucks if a US citizen gets killed. Just like Rachel Corrie herself. but she chose to put herself in harms way with her radical ideology. That's like being against airplanes flying, so you go lay in the middle of a runway. Chances are you're gonna get killed. As I have said all along, you are so hard up for Hamas, why don't you leave your luxurious lifestyle and go settle in Palestine and live amongst your own.

The people you have labeled a *terrorist mob* were on a Turkish vessel in International waters, an ally of Israel, the ONLY one they have in the ME.
The blockade is ILLEGAL (I know it seems to bother you that I keep having to repeat that but it IS a fact) and the flotilla was to draw attention to the 75% drop in what is being allowed into Gaza since the illegal blockade was instituted.
Egypt has opened the Rafah crossing since in support of Gaza since the flotilla DISASTER and Hilary Clinton has asked that the blockade be lifted as have the EU.
Common sense tells us that the IDF used disproportionate force considering the number of dead (NONE IDF) and it's quite hard for the flotilla members to show their side when Israel STOLE the video, audio, cell phones, cameras, memory sticks to edit them to show their side ONLY to the world. You are okay with Palestinians, Turkish, US citizens dying and only count the rockets into Israel and the ones into Gaza do not count...

what facts are you talking about? the only fact is that the flotilla was not a peace or aid mission. They are terrorists and Israle had to resort to death to protect themselves from the terrorist mob. Those are the only facts of the matter. That is from common sense, not the NYT.

So to Sarlet, Israel creates its threats by creating its own extremists - dont do a BUSH and blame IRAN - Palestinians have a right and a duty to protect themselves from human rights abuses, death and oppression
