the horrific evil act is worsened by evil comments. to accept this behavior shows satanic evil forces have infiltrated some peoples minds. using descriptive adjectives such as calling victim scumbag reflects a known psychology fact what adjec tives a person calls another person is really a self desc ription. who is the real scumbag???

Im telling you, that little scumbag and his family were forced out of a housing estate and dumped to live in the same one as me until they were forced out again. The only shame in this attack was that the little scumbag got back up after it.

Cowards will always gang up against one person because it's the only way they know how to escape their own feelings of inadequacy. How low can you get - to do what they did to this young man? I felt so sick to my stomach when I read this, I hoped it was another erroneous article. It's anguishing to know it really happened. I hope this young man gets well soon and doesn't hate the rest of mankind for this atrocity. I pray he won't have to be homeless, again.

If this was a homeless man who had done nothing to deserve this they should castrate the lot of em. That should slow them down a bit. Then do to them as was done to him.

He didn't do anything. He was homeless and was dragged into an alley. If you google this, you will see other articles. He was hit with a pipe and hammer, and he had injuries to his head, jaw, and ear in addition to what was done to his ear. It is a matter of cruelty committed against someone who is already down on his luck.

Schenck2, I am in agreement with you completely. People have become numb and filled with comtempt when it comes to appreciating the pain and suffering of other members of the human family. Lots of things are funny or grounds for criticism of the supposed "victim", but a man being viciously attacked by a gang and a reporter being viciously raped by a gang are not. Cruelty is not funny

Things are pretty bad - the cannibals are out and about. Kinda like the the servants of the oligarch and developer crud in the form of Fianna Fail, Fine Gael, Labor, Greens ... Independents who will continue to visit pain. We ourselves - Sinn Fein another option that needs be given the floor.

Quite frankly I'm appalled at the responses. This is an atrocious act and what I find disgusting is readers finding humor in this unfortunate young mans dillema. No doubt drugs maybe involved but are the Irish sinking to the level of the drug cartels patrolling the US/Mexico border where it is common to find beheaded people strewn along the border
