Goodbye to Sarah Palin and all that fake Fox outrage nonsense -- Paul Ryan and Marco Rubio the future, thankfully, for GOP

| Sarah Palin's first appearance as a news analyst on Fox |
Even Fox News have had enough of Sarah Palin, canceling her contract.
That is actually good news for the GOP, even if many diehards will not see it that way.
That’s because Palin was always on the loony tunes fringe, lacking the basic educational tools to become a respected national candidates.
Her laughable foreign policy responses (‘We can see Russia from here’) in that now infamous Katie Couric interview tagged her for ever as an intellectual lightweight and she did nothing subsequently to remove that image.
Read More: Michelle Obama did the country no favor with her eye roll - VIDEOShe was in many ways a Fox News creation with Roger Ailes describing her as ‘hot’ which hardly went down well with many women.
Contrast her with Congressman Paul Ryan, a cool, measured, deeply intellectual fellow, who is already one of the front runners for 2016.
The GOP will simply have to learn that the quick fix, fake outrage, hot button issues of the day as exemplified by Fox coverage does not play in the long run. It is all sugar calories, delightful at first bite, but then meaningless.
I watched Paul Ryan on ‘Meet the Press’ on Sunday and saw a bright, convincing politician who is in it for the long run.
Read More: Joe Biden must worry about Hillary and Barack love fest on '60 Minutes'The contest between Ryan and other GOP stars like Senator Marco Rubio will be fascinating to watch for the soul of the party.
At least it will be a battle between two fine political intellects, not Palin-like creatures who shriek on cue and use the same tired little formulas week after week.
The GOP and Ailes finally see Palin for what she was, a fascinating sugar calories diversion from the real issues of how America should be run.
As she fades into obscurity there will be few who will miss her, her dysfunctional family, and her parrot-like responses.
Ryan and Rubio on the other hand constitute a real challenge for Democrats in 2016.

The youth of Ameriaca love Rand Paul but the old guard Republicans will squash him and put up a loser.
seanomelb | Feb 19, 2013, 05:54 PM EST
Well Briano the truth hurts some times and Hermann is a predatorand you accept him
BrianO | Feb 19, 2013, 08:40 AM EST
Seams your argument has descended into insults, enjoy your false utopia. As I do not wish to descend with you.
seanomelb | Feb 18, 2013, 06:44 PM EST
why should anyone fear a failed governor who was sacked by Fox and to add insult to injury replaced the idiot Hermann "Hands up her dress"Cain.
BrianO | Feb 18, 2013, 09:13 AM EST
Did your program include rebuttal from Sarah Palin, just a bit from the other side "In her capacity as mayor, she cut personal property tax, the business inventory tax, and the property tax mil levy every year. As governor, she yearly utilized her line-item veto power to cut spending by millions of dollars, invested $5 billion in state savings, forward-funded education, provided Alaskans a resource rebate to offset energy costs, and opted to reject much of the proffered “stimulus” funds. The upshot of the Governor’s wise fiscal management included a business boom, decreased unemployment, and an improved credit rating. Putting her money where her mouth was, Governor Palin also denied herself raises during her career. How often do we see this from our politicians? Rather, they’re too often getting fat off of insider trading, legal graft, and crony capitalism, as foreign policy adviser to Governor Palin, Peter Schweizer, reveals in his book, Throw Them All Out.".... The proof that Palin was more honest than not is that your side still fears her, this mother of five, one special needs. But go ahead seano drink the koolaid of the socialists but do me a favor, leave me alone I much prefer to keep my individuality and freedom, thank you all the same.
seanomelb | Feb 17, 2013, 06:46 PM EST
AS luck would have it Brian I watched a channel 4 (BBC)doco on Sarah palin(last night). They interviewed former advisers and friends and it was not a pretty picture. Her first act on becoming 1/2 governor was to try and re-open the troopergate affair, which had already been dealt with by the police and her bro-in-law was exonerated. when her police chief informed her of this she replaced him then sacked his replacement. Her advisers also worried about her texting and continuously referring to her 2 blackberry's during government hearings. Anybody who didagreed with her were fired including long time friends. The state government of Alaska wer glad to see her go. Her popularity ratings dropped from n historical 90% to 34% in two years. So my friend she was not capapble of the job and left, even the Cain adviser who talked Cain into having her as a running mate claimed she was a total disaster and probably cost cain the presidency.
BrianO | Feb 16, 2013, 09:16 AM EST
Ah so it is about me. My points must be valid as you are trying to have me defend a tangent. Since you are a military man, maybe you should look into the disenfranchised American servicemen/women who's votes were not tallied or even allowed to receive ballots. I know in Ma. that the Secretary of State Galvin didn't send out ballots to active military. But I forget you are on the left so these citizens don't matter, only pushing the cause matters
seanomelb | Feb 15, 2013, 06:21 PM EST
As Trump would say "show me your war records" Briano and before you ask I served in the military.
BrianO | Feb 15, 2013, 10:15 AM EST
I thought you were smart. of course the wwII was George H.W. Bush, his son attempted to become a pilot but was not good enough at it, few are, George w. Bush was however fully attacked by the infamous Mike Wallace and his forged documents that ended his (wallace's) career. But the harm was done, the lie was told, and spread by the end justify the means media. Much like the lie in this article That Sarah Palin stated she can see Russia from her front window. Lies, deceit, and character assassination, the tools of the left. What has obama done to help the American people? it's been 5 years now, still waiting for the deficit to be cut in half as he promised, Taxes have gone up more than the "not one dime" promise of the liar and chief, Gitmo seems to still be up and running, and I believe the ambassador and his defenders are still dead in Bengazi.
seanomelb | Feb 13, 2013, 06:14 PM EST
If Bush was a navy jet pilot what theatre of war did he serve he certainly was to young to fight in WW11. Or do you refer to his father GH? Your slight of words only strenhgtens my argument.,or do yuo leally believe GW was a second world war pilot. One way or the other you are incorrect. BTW I notice we do not have your war record probably because yuo wre hiding under the same bed as karl and Georgie boy.
BrianO | Feb 13, 2013, 02:05 PM EST
Research kerry before you defend that liar. Has kerry been your senator, have you been able to see him in action or inaction? How was bush a draft dodger he was a navy jet pilot, . "On his 18th birthday he enlisted in the armed forces. The youngest pilot in the Navy when he received his wings, he flew 58 combat missions during World War II. On one mission over the Pacific as a torpedo bomber pilot he was shot down by Japanese antiaircraft fire and was rescued from the water by a U. S. submarine. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for bravery in action." I believe you side consider him a whimp.
seanomelb | Feb 12, 2013, 08:55 PM EST
Briano you have no proof that kerry was not a war hero and again you accept as fact the grumblings of a GOP smear campaign financed by the GOP and draft dodgers like Rove,Rumsfeld,Bush, O'reilly and the rest of the cowards who were happy to see Kerry march off to war tp protect their class position in the good old USA. Were you a serviceman Briano? or are you happy to ride on the backs of Kerry and Hagel and the other brave men regardless of their politics.
BrianO | Feb 11, 2013, 10:20 AM EST
Kerry was supposedly my senator for most of my life, he is the biggest waste of skin that I can think of. Giggalo John as he is known in Ma. is a great example of a liberal. First to raise taxes first to avoid paying them. Look up where he harbours his new yacht to avoid Ma. taxes, Also where he had his yacht constructed to avoid taxes. Kerry lied about his "service in vietnam" recieved purple heart falsly, threw medals over the capitols fence in protest only not his medals, Always wondered why the swift boat captains were attacked for speaking truth to power. Kerry a good austrian name he pretends is Irish for political gain in Irish american dominated Ma. This is your example of an honest man? Look up Senator John Kerry on some of the waitress feed back websites his cheapness and condescending nature are legendary.
seanomelb | Feb 10, 2013, 06:32 PM EST
Well you must respect Kerry.Hagel and other democrats who served the nation. If you believe Palin, limbaugh, adkin and murdock are honest you have a problem.
BrianO | Feb 10, 2013, 10:43 AM EST
As for simple, I like directness, honesty, courage, these are things that are simply right.
BrianO | Feb 10, 2013, 09:02 AM EST
All men are biased. The more power you give to a candidate (why you reserve conservative to being racist is beyond me "typical white person" seems to have come from the liberal side) the more power they can wield against the citizenry. I am for limited government, limited by the rules set forth in my countries founding. I believe in my fellow citizen as flawed as we all are. Oh and your racist candidate that wants to overthrow the government, first wants to run for congress? seems this would limit his ability to overthrow the government as his power would be divided. President however in the executive branch is the position which needs the most limits placed on it, no kings.
seanomelb | Feb 09, 2013, 07:52 PM EST
Briano !! thats fair enough I concede. you are entitled to believe simple words from simple people. All candidates for congress take an oath to protect the constitution. What if the most conservatve candidate is a racist Briano or wants an armed rebellion against the Government? wheer then do you stand
BrianO | Feb 09, 2013, 11:17 AM EST
maybe you could give a tutorial on the Australian tax system as nothing is for free. My American Constitution when followed limits government, in turn limiting the power of potential tyrants, I would not want to be connected with the Maos etc, either as they are the worst of mankind. When you confiscate wealth from individuals you open the door to tyranny. A wealthy person may turn out to be a bad person, but he doesn't have an army or the power of a federalized government to force you into submission. I know you have no respect for Sarah Palin as you believe the propaganda, I will no longer put up with the lies being spread. I respect a person who doesn't speak in riddles, someone who tells you what they believe in, and is consistent. The obamas of the world craft their words to appeal to their audience, the ends justify the means. The law is for other people. I vote for the most conservative pro Constitutional candidate available. I support my fellow citizens.
seanomelb | Feb 07, 2013, 05:40 PM EST
You wrongly perceive who my heros are,but that's okay I know you mention them to try and prove a point built on false premises. I don't live by your constitution but by the constitution of the country I live in which protects us in a far superior way.and Our bill of rights cover what yours does not like Medical treatment, working conditions and a minmum wage of $16 per hour and a 35 hour week,4 weeks annual leave(Paid). Stalin, lenin polpot or Obama could not offer you these rights. Read and weep briano. BTW you vote for the GOP who wish to take your miserable workers rights away from you. Talk about shooting ones self in the foot!!!!
BrianO | Feb 07, 2013, 10:30 AM EST
Lenin... thank you for the ridicule, will you be sending the death squads out to kill me for speaking ill of your heroes? i learned about liberty in the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, you should read them sometime, they were written to limit government control over it's people. We the people not hail the king. But I suppose you could just turn your back on your country and emigrate.
seanomelb | Feb 06, 2013, 05:31 PM EST
Where did you learn about liberty, free speech etc. from ollie north. Btw I noticed you included John lennon as an oppressor and the only democratically elected head of state Chavez and good old Che who never led any country. Lberty according to Briano.
BrianO | Feb 06, 2013, 12:14 PM EST
Life liberty happiness, free speech, freedom of religion, freedom to protect ones property, the things you call fascist. I love when your ilk finally shows your true colors, you are the controllers, the oppressors the wolves in sheep clothing, so go kneel at the alter of Mao, Chavez, Che, Stalin, Marx, Lennon, Pol Pot, just a few of your buddies.
seanomelb | Feb 05, 2013, 07:40 PM EST
Your support of right wing fascist oppressors never seems to amaze me Brian
BrianO | Feb 05, 2013, 03:03 PM EST
Chavez another leader. Now the others will know you.
seanomelb | Feb 04, 2013, 06:43 PM EST
Chavez another leader who swept the poles. Your GOP friends and their surrogates overthrew Chavez for about ten minutes some years ago but democracy won out much to the chagrin of Bush and Cheney. Maybe the should have sent their chief terrorist ollie North down there to murder some women and children like he did in Nicaragua. You may know my kind Briano but you do not now your self.
BrianO | Feb 04, 2013, 09:59 AM EST
I know your kind. I asked a friend(an obama supporter) what obama's grades were in college, his response, "your a racist" When you have no facts on your side you ridicule, demean, and insult. Ship out to Venezuela the socialist Utopia you seek exists there. You should have no trouble turning your back on Australia you have done it before.
seanomelb | Feb 03, 2013, 05:39 PM EST
Briano!! your pal at Fox have made a career out of ridiculing Obama and you have smeared him in previous posts. You see briano Obama won and Palin lost,I'm with the majority you are with teh dinosaurs and cannot see the pearls of stupidity than Palin expouses. McCain couldn't stand her and that's not saying much.
BrianO | Feb 03, 2013, 09:33 AM EST
You ridicule because that is the weapon of the left, ridicule, put down, condemn. The tools of the coward, the tools of the tyrant. Support the anti freedom cowardly tyrants if you must, former Irishman seanomelb, riducule those that stand up to the destruction of freedom if you wish to be controlled, I'll defend the Patriot Sarah Palin for she represents all that is good in America. As for your ilk, go to Venezuela the government you want exists there.
seanomelb | Feb 02, 2013, 06:19 PM EST
"She choose to help her country at large" how funny Briano as the country at large gave her the royal boot.I ridicule her Briano not because she's a woman, but because like Hannity and limbaugh she is an idiot only interested in making money and her ventures have failed. So much for her business acumen.BTW I forgot to include mad Malkin.
BrianO | Feb 02, 2013, 09:37 AM EST
Well Seano you brave attacker of women, why do you think Palin resigned from being governor. Was it because she was being attacked and accused of frivolous ethics violations, attacked because she fought against the cronies that inhabit the government these days, costing her and Alaska money, and time. You smug know it alls who wish to squash freedom and control the masses disgust me. Palin could have stayed in Alaska and been a multi term governor but she chose to help her country at large. For this she has faced waves of lies and ridicule by the cowards on the left. Their greatest quote from Sarah Palin is from a comedienne, they speak from ignorance and stupidity. In the three years Sarah Palin governed Alaska she cut wasteful spending and left it in surplus, lets see obama do that.
seanomelb | Feb 01, 2013, 09:12 PM EST
Briano Palin was the 1/2 governor, she did not have the fortitude to to finish her term, she was way out of her depth.
bveritas | Feb 01, 2013, 02:18 PM EST
What kind of "heavyweight journalist" would attribute to Palin something she never said but was parodied as having said? And this from a TV "journalist" who once insisted that the United States was at war with France during World War II because Normandy in in France.
BrianO | Feb 01, 2013, 12:26 PM EST
I've listed obamas lacking credentials forever, just look them up, I asked a friend what grades did he receive in occidental, columbia, harvard? his reply? you're a racist. if you ask a question or dare to question obama you are a racist. Palin was a small town mayor who rose to be the governor of her state and ultimately was picked to be vice president, She could also beat obama in a game of basketball as well, look it up.
McNamara31 | Feb 01, 2013, 08:14 AM EST
Gunner350 "The left looks at Sarah and scoffs, but they listen to Roseanne, and Oprah et al. It shows their ignorance" Do you realize how clueless, ignorant and stereotypical this statement is? People of opposing viewpoints to you, saw Palin as a very poor political representative who walked away from her duly elected job in Alaska, for her own self interest and greed. In hindsight, who do you think was actually right about her character and capabilities?
seanomelb | Feb 01, 2013, 01:52 AM EST
Which bnlack American are you referring to? If you mean POTUS what a great achievement for a poverty stricken family. The American dream and a great president.

BrianO, Your continual standing up for Ms. Palin is laudable, I guess, but you really are out to lunch if you didn't see her for what she really was - a selfish oportunist who was not very bright. Also your description of the President is so absurd that it's difficult for me to take anything you say as serious. You must learn some facts, not follow the talking heads on Fox news.

"I have not attacked her dysfunctional family" that is your brave way of attacking her family. Say what you mean don't use innuendo. You want an example of a dysfunctional family, I'll give you one. Born of an African national, abandoned by his father as a child, raised by his grandmother because his mother couldn't be bothered, schooled in Indonesia, uprooted to Hawaii. Never cared for, lost, drug ridden high school life, finally finding the religion of communism, the ends justify the means politics. Lie to achieve your goals, destroy your competition.
seanomelb | Jan 30, 2013, 05:24 PM EST
Come on Brian!! AS I stated she is an intellectual light weight even the GOP and FOX can see that. I have not attacked her dysfunctional family(Yet as they fall on their own swords every time they speak.)You and gunner should take aim at the conservatives who diminished her and stop blaming the liberls for her demise. Then you both set out your lists of meaningless diatribe to justify your little angel Sarah. Next week it will be Sarah who??
Gunner350 | Jan 30, 2013, 12:42 PM EST
The left looks at Sarah and scoffs, but they listen to Roseanne, and Oprah et al. It shows their ignorance, not only of the people involved but in what they have accomplished. Not how much money they have made but what they have really accomplished. 80% of us have some sort of dysfunctional family today, with divorces, homoginized families, unwed child parents. drugs and so on. Most uf us go through our lives doing the best we can to further our carreers, raise our families and enjoy our lives. Sarah Palin saw a need , stepped up and filled that need. As a woman, she took on oil companies, environmentalists, others within her own government and then the entire left wing whacko establishment to make a run at the VP slot. In my mind she performed admirably. Those who chose charactor assination and cheap shots didn't bring her down, they just showed their own ignorance of reality. Most do not even kn ow that as the head of the Alaska National Guard, the "you can see Russia from here" comment put her in the same daily briefing situation as the white House. I don't know that hers were world wide , but as pertained to Russia she knew, what the president knew. Furthermore I defy some of the morons who have previously commented to locate countries on the globe they have not specifically read or know about. I'm smart in geography and I can't do it. Sarah speaks from her heart and mind at the same time, and that scares the hell out of the left because they just don't understand the truth when it is naked before them. They must have quallifiers and viels to be able to believe anything. It is a shame they know so much about everything...........and it's wrong!
BrianO | Jan 30, 2013, 10:47 AM EST
Again with the insults, very intellectual, or maybe you meant the writer of this article using a quote from Tina Fey and attributing it to Mrs Palin. Nothing new here just an attempt to destroy, insult, demean, maybe that is how people are in Australia, attack a persons family, attack a persons looks, attack a person for being a woman. I will stand up for Sarah Palin everyday of my life, the problem is you socialist like to tear people down from a distance, cowards everyone of you. I welcome face to face confrontation. Which does little good in the mode of communication where all including myself can be very brave.
seanomelb | Jan 29, 2013, 05:45 PM EST
Briano it was the GOP right wingers at Fox sacked her not the main stream media. A quote from a mental lightweight Brian.
seanomelb | Jan 29, 2013, 04:31 PM EST
Nice to see the bullies are out in full force. Sarah Palin stands up for herself and speaks her mind against the tidal wave of the modern propaganda machine. She is a true patriot. If you dare to defy the socialists then you must be destroyed, Sara Palin so bothers these socialists because she refuses to buckle to their wishes.--Quote of the day -----"I might add that, in small towns, we don't quite know what to make of a candidate who lavishes praise on working people when they're listening and then talks about how bitterly they cling to their religion and guns when those people aren't listening." Sarah Palin.
hunter933 | Jan 29, 2013, 10:35 AM EST
Paul Ryan? You've got to be joking.Good riddance to Palin though. If the republicans could find an intelligent candidate like Obama, instead of the quipping, shuffling, guffawing fools that they always come up with, they would be relevant and dangerous again. I hope they don't.
boltonw | Jan 29, 2013, 09:32 AM EST
What a good comment by Eschetic, talking about responsible parties leading with government programs to do what individuals cannot. The only hope for Republicans is to stop their manic rhetoric about dismantling every government program in sight (except the ones that help big corporations of course) and realize that government plays a vital role - without which individuals could never succeed. Follow that path and quality candidates will emerge. Follow Murdock - and more Ryans will lead to self destruction.

If BrianO is serious, one can only hope that he grows up before the next time he faces his civic responsibilities in the voting booth. This isn't a "Right" or "Left" thing; it's a question of ethics and integrity. Former Governor Palin's commitment to good government and the "cause" of a conservative interpretation of same was revealed as fraudulent when she dumped her position as ELECTED Governor of her state because she could make more money elsewhere. She neither added to nor detracted from Fox "News's" questionable reputation but should now fade into the obscurity she so richly deserves. Rep. Ryan's intellectual and political bonefides were pretty effectively dismissed in his prominent role in the party losing every single important "swing" state in the last election. That leaves Marco Rubio as an intriguing prospect to be taken very seriously in the hunt for the 2016 nomination. If we Republicans seriously hope to avoid the fate of the Whig Party 200 years ago, sinking into irrelevance, many of us will be looking for an even more "centerist" alternative - one who realizes that RESPONSIBLE parties LEAD with positive programs for the government to do what individuals CANNOT - but unless and until one comes forth, Rubio has many qualities worth considering.

Rupert and Ailes, finally realized, dumb and bigoted isn't winning elections anymore. That's why Palin's gone.

To all you haters on the left, Sarah Palin is still more qualified than the current president is. She is more honest and straight forward than the president is. She has her honor still intact which what little honor the current president had he left in Bengazi. ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, the new york times the boston gloge the la times all spread the lies about Mrs. Palin, much like this piece uses comediennes words and attributes them to Mrs. Palin. I suppose when Mrs. Palin didn't abort her son Trig that really upset the tolerant left. I say hold your head high Sarah Palin speaking the truth to power is tough business.
bunkerisland | Jan 28, 2013, 10:49 AM EST
Rubio and Ryan are hardly a challenge beyond their superficial appeal. Ryan a "deep intellectual"? If you look at his budget proposals you will soon find that he has no understanding of economics nor the impact of tax policies on the welfare of the nation. Rubio is more a pretty boy of the immediate ethnic interests but more smile than substance. The repubs will have to dig deeper than this for a candidate.
Fran Connor | Jan 28, 2013, 10:17 AM EST
Sarah IS hot. And, by the way, at the nearest point, the US and Russia are seperated by about two and a half miles. I am, however, happy to see her go, and wish her the best. The media, which fawns over Obama and all democrats (see sixty minutes last night as the most recent example), did their best to annihilate this woman and her family.
JimmieM | Jan 28, 2013, 10:13 AM EST
Gee whiz do you have to be ignorant and a fool to be a "journalist" ? I quit reading at the point he used the quote from Saturday night live's Tina Fey as a quote from Governor Palin...So for this guy its if you don't lie you don't get published must be wonderful being a professional liar.
McNamara31 | Jan 28, 2013, 10:04 AM EST
So Fox’s Roger Ailes has cut Sarah Palin loose. She was their gleeful cheerleader of smear, and vilification, doing the really dirty work that McCain and the rest of the Republicans wanted done, but didn’t want to dirty their own hands with. Yet, they stood in the shadows laughing and applauding when “Sarah” would put out her latest slander attack, in her hockey mom style, with lipstick glowing, running from interview to interview, kid trailing behind with helpless looks upon their faces. And now Ailes who really runs the Republican party, especially since Karl Rove crashed and burned in the last election, has decided “He’s” had enough of the latest brainless pretty face; like many rich and powerful men before him, and told “Sarah” he’s breaking up with her, and don’t call us we’ll call you. I wonder if Palin was watching 60 minutes last night? Ahhhh...Karma, such a wonderful thing!
hooligan6a | Jan 28, 2013, 08:52 AM EST
You call Palin loony? There is a reason they called Joe Biden the dumbest man in the US Senate.
