Donald Trump is becoming the Charlie Sheen of American politics

Donald Trump is fast becoming the Charlie Sheen of politics.

Watching him on 'Good Morning America' with George Stephanopoulos this morning was like watching a car crash.

Trump's face got redder and redder as Stephanopoulos questioned him on his absurd position on the birther controversy.

Unfortunately for Trump he wasn't able to bark 'You're fired" at the ABC host as George very kindly eviscerated him on past statements he has made saying Obama was a great president, in favor of abortion rights and universal health care.

Trump just sat there looking more stupid at every moment. Like all arrogant men he has a number of pithy one liners that he doesn't feel he needs to explain further. When asked to explain he blusters and bullies.

But when George pressed him on what exactly he would do to force OPEC to lower oil prices Trump responded that he would withdraw troops from OPEC countries, a clearly insane remark.

On the birther issue Trump resembles Charlie Sheen, off in his own world of high conspiracy and low deeds. He has a crack team on the case in Hawaii and promises to publish sensational allegations soon.

No doubt they can stop by Roswell, New Mexico on the way back and find the UFO that transported Obama here from a distant galaxy.

All this nonsense would be laughable were it not for the fact that, based on polls, Trump has a real shot at the Republican nomination.

Quite rightly that is scaring the wits out of Republican headliners like Karl Rove who has called Trump "a joke."

He is a joke but the joke is on the American people that this charlatan could ever be a serious contender for the White House.

Who is up for his running mate? The Rock, Mr.T ?

It is high time Republicans told Trump he's fired.

Let's hope the Republican Party does nominate Donald Duck; it would certainly be an entertaining event! The voters will surely say to Trump, "Your fired!"
God help us all, if this is the best my country can do. We are fast becoming a country of haves and have nots and history tells us what happened the last time. The man is not a joke, he's our worst nightmare.
Give a lily-pad to Lilpaddy
Gracie, I'd vote for Yogi Bear or even his sidekick BooBoo before I'd vote for either Palin or Trump. Trump may have money, but not many realise it was his dad that made the millions in property, and was a decent sort by all accounts. The son, on the other hand, has many of the undesirable qualities sometimes found in those who inherit wealth.
The ATF said this past week that there are enough guns in America to arm every man, woman and child in the country. Keep wishing haveuforgotten or did ya forget?
Reading the comments below (well most of them anyway) give me strong reason to believe that most of us Irish suffer from the "head up the ass syndrome"...... IF OBOMA HAD A U.S. BIRT-CERT.... HE WOULD PRODUCE IT.... PERIOD. If Trump runs? I'll vote for him.....
Let this idiot keep talking! You go on comb over keep leading these conservative gun toting dummies.. wish I could put them on a garbage barge and ship em over to Japan
Trump? Palin? Yogi Bear? Most politicians and virtually all Repulican politicians - None of these are characters I would trust with anything that requires intelligence, character, integrity, honor, honesty. Yes, the media and all these other morons make it very unpleasant for anyone to run for a public office, but honestly - Is this current line-up the best the Republicans can come up with? An entrepreneur and an aging beauty queen, neither of whom have any contact with reality, have no understanding of how the "REAL" world works and have egos that are so disproportionate to what they really bring to the table that I don't think they could fit in Madison Square Garden at the same time. Let's hope somebody Republican worth voting for actually offers to run.
If he is the Repulican candidate for President then we will have TWO chariatans TO CHOOSE FROM!!!!!
YOU BEAT HIM PATRICK! I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED TO HIRE CHARLES MANSON AS THEIR NEXT WRITER!
If Trump was running as a Democrat, this article would not have been written. The media is half-baked and totally complicit. Why would anyone decent run for president given the media treatment?
Trump for president? Luckily, my family lives close to the CANADIAN border...Irregardless, every politician thinks they can "save" us.
When has Trump NOT been a selfish, self-righteous, arrogant, speak-first-think-later buffoon? What's pathetic is how he still brings out his yapping chihuahuas to back him up, as is evident from some of the idiotic comments on this thread.
Patrick Roberts you are typical of the lack of real journalism today. Get educated......PLEASE! Trump has done more and accomplished more in his life then Obama will ever aspire to. Obama is a fraud and a common Chicago thug who can't even tell us where he was funded from to go to an Ivy League school. The so called birth certificate is a paid for piece of trash as his whole life is. Blah, Blah, Blah, his life is all lies. No other public official has paid to hide lis life away. Wake up world!!
I heard that "The Donald" wants to open the "Trump- St. Peter's Casino" in the Vatican. He says it's a "fantastic property" which is "underutilized", has "a lot of history" and "HUGE upside potential" as a "gaming Mecca." The plan involves moving hundreds of roulette, black jack, and poker tables into the Basilica at night after tourists and pilgrams have left, Monday thru Saturday. The plan calls for 60 foot tall red-orange (inspired by The Donald's hair)neon letters spelling TRUMP to be raised above Michaelangelo's 16th century facade at sunset each night there's to gambling "under the dome." There is even a "cross marketing scheme" were success at the tables gets you forgiveness of sins. Indulgences for fornication, embezzlement, and purjury would be part of jackpots, but may not be a feature from the outset due to Vatican objections to Trup's proposed 60-40 split.
