These are dangerous times for immigration reform.
President Obama keeps talking about his "unwavering" commitment to immigration reform but there are no specifics.
He held meetings with Senators Charles Schumer and Lindsey Graham and several advocate groups - except for the Irish - on Thursday and again spoke about this "commitment."
Show us the money Barack.
The cynic in me thinks it's all lip service until the March 21 immigration rally.
But there's the thing.
No one knows how big this rally is going to be or how effective it could be.
The New York Times even referred to it as a possible "game changer."
"There is one possible game changer: an immigration march in Washington planned for March 21, designed as a last-ditch try to put reform on the agenda. Nothing like 100,000 angry, frustrated, impatient marchers, representing millions of voters, to focus the Congressional and presidential mind, if it’s not too late."
Newsday is reporting that marchers have already left Long Island in New York for the trek to Washington.
Here's hoping their efforts aren't in vain.

What you back is the opposite of Immigration reform. Immigration reform would stop the abuse of the American taxpayer by people who flaunt the law. Someone who has no right to be in the country certainly has no right to benefit from being here.

the USA is taking social security to fund this medical takeover, Obama has cut Medicare, he wants no seniors left standing. Illegals should run like the wind.

Wow steber, you are on a roll, or is it role?
"an idea that will be beneficial to this country"
I have an idea, help all illegal immigrants with transportation back to their countries of origin. Then apply for legal status here. That's my idea.

Instead of complaining and waving fists at the undocumented, come up with an idea that will be beneficial to this country. We all know that people who are working and not paying tax are hurting the economy, and, in effect, the people, AND, the undocumented are here to stay, SO… if you factor both of those statements into the equasion, what are we left with?… We need comprehensive immigration reform and the sooner it it happens, the sooner we get out of this recession.

Whether you can see it or not, the best thing that can happen to this country is that the undocumented workers be put on the books, and any able bodied person who does not work, unless they were injured, be given the choice; work or go home, but no unemployment benefits.
Face it people! Thirty million people simply won't just disappear, so why not use them to our, our nations advantage?!

Because of the current immigration policy there are few, or no, ways for undocumented workers to pay tax.
If there was, at least, a way for taxes to be taken from everyones salary, documented or undocumented, this country would not be in the state of financial ruin that it is.

The undocumented are here to stay and there's nothing anyone can do about it, so, what NEEDS to be done is; document the undocumented, put them on the books. With thirty million extra tax payers, do you think this country would be in such a critical financial state if thirty million workers were on the books instead of not being able to pay tax?

We can learn a modern day lesson from Tibet: The Tibetan government-in-exile has stated that immigration from China has been used to culturally and economically overwhelm and marginalize Tibet's host population. To most world observers, it is clear that China has used immigration as a weapon in its past and that it has done it again in Tibet.

You stated that there would be "100,000 angry marchers." Since when are illegal aliens voters?
The United States allows in more legal immigrants than all of the other countries combined. We are over crowded now. We don't have enough jobs for Americans. Our school, prisons and health care facilities are overwhelmed. We don't need millions more poorly educated unskilled people.

Section 245i was 10 years ago and it included spouses, did you get married after it passed?

You weren't invited because you are gringos. What do you think will happen when 50 million racist Latinos (led by La Raza) become voting citizens? Some of them want to deport all gringos to Europe, check out the Mexica Movement.org website.
