Bill O'Reilly is fair and balanced unlike his other colleagues at Fox News

Bill O'Reilly is fair and balanced.

He's probably the only one who is at Fox News but it is certainly better to have one person than none.

In recent months Bill has been fair to Obama, critical, but never personally nasty as many other hosts are.

He also dismissed Christine O'Donnell as a nut job, which she is and had spirited but fair discussion on Obama fiscal policies.

For Bill O'Reilly, the Fox News tag line to be 'fair and balanced" seems to actually mean something, particularly of late when his colleagues at the channel seem to see conspiracy theories all around them.

On O'Reilly's top-rated cable show this week he interviewed Secretary of Homeland Secretary Janet Napolitano, and to the surprise of many the anticipated grudge match did not occur.

O'Reilly was consistently calm and respectful throughout the wide ranging discussion, and at times he even veered toward complimenting Napolitano's recent work.

"I gave the Obama administration a lot of credit for this crackdown on illegal immigrants," O'Reilly said. "They're doing a lot more than the Bush administration ever did."

Thank you Bill for speaking the truth.

Maybe Jon Stewart's backhanded compliment that O'Reilly has become the "fairest person in the temple of doom," hit it mark. Certainly in recent weeks O'Reilly watchers say he has made a marked effort to be more "balanced" in his opinions and the topics he's been covering.

Strange days indeed.

this blogger is as fair an balanced as devito in a cuckoos nest.
So, BillO' was the only 'fair and balanced' guy at FOX... until the highly malleable opinion of Paddy Roberts changed with the 'walkout' from a worthless TV show of an attention seeking black shrew and a mediocre talk-show harridan? -- Goes to show how solid this guy's opinions are.
I have to say that this publication is so far out there on the left that it's no wonder Ireland is about to go under...and I can't wait until it does. You've been relying on tourism for years and when nobody shows up, you're done! Why don't you start importing Muslims like England, France & Germany...then all you Catholic bashers will be growing beards or wearing burkas....your publication is so disgustingly liberal that it makes me ashamed to be Irish...
Bill is not the only one who is some what fair. Sheppard Smith and Bret Baier is also fair maybe more than Bill.
kevinhayes-- if Fox is 'a religion' to right thinking folks... what is PMSNBC to the left rabble?
Sez jamthecat (and the question remains Where do you want that cat jammed?): ..none of those old, white "tea-baggers" who so loathe "big government spending" are willing to forego their Social Security checks and Medicare. Tells you what they're REALLY about, right there. --- For one whose cat needs to be jammed right up there where he/she likes his/her tea bags jammed, this person looks to be suffering from a distinct lack of COMMON SENSE-something that affects every non-contributing, entitlement-demanding addict lefty-- Here's a newsflash to you jam, If we the people have money forcefully deducted from our paycheck to be put into some 'vague' savings account the government assures us will be returned when we reach a certain age... are we to understand that promise to be only conditional? Is it a scam? Is it a pyramyd scheme? -- It's our money, fool! why should we be shy about expecting the ideological thieves in the present admin to hand it back to us, and not use it instead on some ridiculous welfare program intended for people who don't do anything to earn it and pay themselves into the system, but only to take and expect more?? -- These welfare programs have no other purpose than keeping indigents dependent on BIG GOVT. and the demoKrap party in power!
antonman sez: "Murdoch's ancestor (no info given as to who 'she' was or how close to him) was a cat-eating thief absolved by a priest, therefore FOX --(just one of many investment properties owned by Murdoch) must be a non-credibility worthy news org.!" No matter that by now in the USA about 68 to 70% of people rely on that channel to get the straight facts!--- You know, this is the logic we have come to expect for left-wing LOONS. They see their ideological agenda crumbling... they have NOTHING but failure to counter with... and their only course of action is to counter with personal attacks, disinformation and improbable fables. --- Aren't you glad we'll remember in November?
Dennis those are leftists/liberals in most normal peoples books. Of course if you are a kool aid drinking 911 truther then nothing short of rosie o'donnel is acceptable. But not to worry, rosie is coming back, you'll be able to get your fill of her brilliance 5 days a week starring in her new show on the Oprah Network. Please come on the boards and share her with us, we will be waiting with baited (california roll) breath.
What is Bill O'Reilly's problem? Maybe he's hypersensitive about his background. He's so unrelentingly nasty that there's got to be a reason for it.

O'Reilly interviewed young Jeremy Glick, whose father had been killed on September 11th. Glick had signed an anti-war petition, and O'Reilly became almost violently angry when the young man chose to stand his ground. A more important question is why a man like O'Reilly has an audience.
You dont't judge people by where they live? You just did a diatribe on it several posts away. Nice non-answer to my question of where you come from. Are you projecting something yourself?
I don't judge people by where they live, hancock; however, if you want to know where Bill O'Reilly gets his snottiness from, it's from growing up in Levittown. He overcompensates with reverse snobbery - it's a projection of what he believes other peoples attitudes are towards him.

I'm surprised you need to ask for a psychological interpretation. You're usually right up there with reductionist terms like fixation and obsession.
These people aren't liberals, Monsoonman; they are house cats. Most of them haven't done anything left of center in years and years. What a collection of opportunists! Harold Ford? He's the vice chairman of Merrill Lynch, making $2 million a year. If he's a liberal, I'm an astronaut.

Geraldo Rivera is not a liberal; neither is Juan Williams. You think they're liberals only because they are minorities. Pat Caddell was discredited long ago. See Media Matters, "Who is Pat Caddell?"

The other people you mention aren't Fox News people - Al Sharpton? Howard Dean? No way.

Mara Liasson needs to decide whether she's a real journalist or a Fox News shill; she can't be both.

Did you say that Greta VanSusteren is a liberal? You have no idea of the political spectrum.
Where were you from before you came to the mighty NYC. Sorry for poor grammar.
Dennis you sound disaffected. Where do you reside ? where were you come from originaly?
OK Dennis here's a few, with some footnotes: Geraldo Rivera, even has his own 1 hour news show espousing his liberal views. Greta VanSusteren, has her own 1 hour news show. Juan Williams, frequent panelist and guest host of Sean Hannity. Kristen Powers Susan Estrich, both frequent commentators and democrat operatives. Pat Caddel, democrat pollster and consultant. Alan Colmes, frequently. Bob Beckel regular contrubutor, partisan democrat official and strategist. Mort Kondrache liberal panelist. "Dr." Mark Lamont Hill, apologist and defender of obama. Democrat congressman harold Ford. Mara Liasson, NPR liberal commentator frequent panelist. Reverend Al Sharpton is a frequent guest. Howard Dean,Jane Hall, Neil Gabler, yadda yadda yadda....
