Bill O'Reilly is fair and balanced unlike his other colleagues at Fox News

Bill O'Reilly is fair and balanced.

He's probably the only one who is at Fox News but it is certainly better to have one person than none.

In recent months Bill has been fair to Obama, critical, but never personally nasty as many other hosts are.

He also dismissed Christine O'Donnell as a nut job, which she is and had spirited but fair discussion on Obama fiscal policies.

For Bill O'Reilly, the Fox News tag line to be 'fair and balanced" seems to actually mean something, particularly of late when his colleagues at the channel seem to see conspiracy theories all around them.

On O'Reilly's top-rated cable show this week he interviewed Secretary of Homeland Secretary Janet Napolitano, and to the surprise of many the anticipated grudge match did not occur.

O'Reilly was consistently calm and respectful throughout the wide ranging discussion, and at times he even veered toward complimenting Napolitano's recent work.

"I gave the Obama administration a lot of credit for this crackdown on illegal immigrants," O'Reilly said. "They're doing a lot more than the Bush administration ever did."

Thank you Bill for speaking the truth.

Maybe Jon Stewart's backhanded compliment that O'Reilly has become the "fairest person in the temple of doom," hit it mark. Certainly in recent weeks O'Reilly watchers say he has made a marked effort to be more "balanced" in his opinions and the topics he's been covering.

Strange days indeed.

Name a few Fox News liberals, Monsoonman. I'll bet they're only called that on Fox News. Everywhere else they're conservatives.
From your comments laddie, I can tell you do not watch Fox News. For if you did you would know there is a plethora of liberals on their shows. Liberals are like dog turds on Fox, they are everywhere, they are.....ubiquitous.
PLEASE get your facts straight on Lou Dobbs and the hireing of Illegals. Follow Bill O'Reilly's example, nothing sours a story more than lies. The left, Liberals and Democrats spew innuendo most of the time. Very Un-American. Desperate times for Liberals and Leftists now.
I watch Bill O'Reilly every night and do think he is fair and balanced. I actually have to thank MSNBC (another cable show) for their vile attacks against Fox News that actually made me watch Fox News. I am proud to be an American but not proud of our main stream media (CBS/NBC/ABS)when they only report what they want and slant the news to their opinions - that's not why I watch the news. Fox News is great! They do, unlike all other stations (cable and network) report both sides and I will continue to watch them. They certainly must be doing something right for all the other cable and network stations to be attacking them. The laughable thing is when our incumbents are running for office, and certainly can't run on their records, they trash Fox News. That's beyond funny!
Ad hominem arguments are odious, from the right or the left. The success of Fox can be attributed to the negative affects of liberal bias of the other major networks. Let me give a case in point involving my brother. During the Clinton-Bush campaign, he nad his wife were interviewed as part of the 'Voice of the Voter' segment on a ABC. There were three families interviewed, two of whom favored Clinton. They were of an Afro-American minister and a Kosher butcher. Each of these were interviewed in their places of business, pictured as ethnic, hard-working families. My brother's interview took place at his home while he and his wife were relaxing over a glass of wine. Now our grandmother was listed as illiterate on her immigration papers. Our father had a third grade education and worked in the mills in Manchester before coming to the States. My brother graduated from college and built a very comfortable life for himself and his family through hard work. The parts of the interviews with each family were carefully chosen to favor Clinton. The selection from my brother's interview was limited to Bush's 'read my lips' comment. When his wife began to speak the segment was cut. There is no need to point to Dan Rather's three big strikes before he was canned. Unfortunately, this liberal bias permeates the major networks. This is a major impetus for the popularity of Fox news.
Bill O'Reilly is the voice of the disaffected Long Islander. These are the people who left New York thinking the city was collapsing . . . and then, it didn't. By then they were stuck living in unimportant places with funny names and massive shopping centers. There just isn't any pride of place east of Queens. Can you imagine having to root for the Islanders?

So they exaggerate the difference between themselves and the people who stayed in the city. They believe that places that are differentiated only by the offramps are somehow more virtuous than the city they abandoned. They also realize that east of JFK Airport there's very little that's of interest to real New Yorkers.

Long Island has become the Oakland of the East - as Gertrude Stein remarked, "There's no there there." O'Reilly's importance as the voice of discontented Long Islanders comes from the fact that much of America is now in a sense greater Long Island. People who live outside of Dallas or outside of Cleveland have much in common with Long Islanders. Life has passed them by, they know it, and they don't quite accept it. However, when they tune in Bill O. they know they're not alone. "I'm a humble man," he says.
Fox News has at least one fair and balanced and when you add their contributors many more than one. (They also have liberal contributors) ABC, NBC and CBS, including their news channels, have none including the top brass who push the liberal left agenda and kiss the President's A-- for availability to him.
American icon , unlike you miserable Irish.
To poster "Southernpride" Bill was most certainly not "abused" by Catholic Priests.... And as proof that he is still a "Good Boy".... He still has rust on his zipper... (Can't every one tell??).. And for you "Monsoonman"....I'm with you 100%!!! As I gave I.C. Niall O'Dowd info related to sexual abuse in the Irish Institution in Daindean (in 58 to 60) that was not in the Ryan or Murphy Report.... And the M.F'er, would not print a word!!! Just like Mr. Bill O'...... An Irish "Pretender".....
m writeDid his P.R. firm write this??? Bill O'LIEly is about as fair and as balanced as King Herod was with Jesus. Billy paid Huge dollars to a former producer end lawsuit and silence a scandal about attempting "phone sex" with her! A real pillar in the Fox News Community, though!!
O'Reilly has gone soft and is fast becoming a pawn to his ratings as opposed to his beliefs. Too bad!
Liberals all over the place on Fox! allow me to ponder a minute 5 minutes (per wk.)for Colmes another 5minutes here and there for a few others, sounds fair and imbalanced to me.
O'reilly loves phone sex. Anyone know if he was sexualy abused by Catholic priests?
"He's Ted Baxter", according to Limbaugh. Seriously, he's the best of a bad lot and only looks fair and balanced in comparison to the posterior boy, Hannity, and the all over the map Beck. He's so arrogant and pompous that his bloviating is hard to watch except, obviusly, for the faithful. Fox News is a religion for a big chunk of its viewers, the flock (of sheeple, as it were). It's as good a religion as any of the others.
"O'Reilly a Joke" ciarral,? you should be as successfull. Every book he writes gets on the best seller list( that just kills the Times.)
