Politico.com reports that in California last night Maher made the surprise announcement.
"At the end of his groundbreaking comedy special, “CrazyStupidPolitics: Live from Silicon Valley,” which streamed live on Yahoo!, Maher brought out a check, making a personal donation of one million dollars to Obama’s Super PAC, Priorities USA Action Politico reported.

Maher also stated that it is “worth a million dollars" to have Obama back in office.
"This is the wisest investment I think I could make."
He also encouraged other wealthy Democrats to do the same.
Maher had been very critical of Obama at times but recently, as the president began tacking to the left Maher has been far more supportive.

A contribution to a food pantry would have been a better decision by this bitter, nasty little man.

Shame on you Bill Maher.
Rick Perry and Herman Cain provide you with so much humorous material. You should have shown them your appreciation.

Bill Maher is leading the way for other rich progressives to counter the onslaught of ultra-conservative PACs. Bravo! George Soros has billions and is willing to invest some of his wealth to prevent a right-wing takeover of the WH. But it won't matter much. Obama will be reelected not matter which one of the three clowns will win the Republican nomination.

I find it strange that no one commented on O'Reillys contribution to Gingrich. The Obama haters (below) are a spiteful racist lot.

Every thirty years or so, America elects a clueless liberal to office in order to feel better about ourselves. We quickly see the error of our ways and correct things. Here's hoping the disengaged community organizer currently in the white house gets his clock cleaned worse than the second worst president in our history (Jimmy) come November.

From a not so wealthy O'Bama supporter - Thanks Bill!!!!! Please remember the Senate and House campaigns too. The economy would have come around even better if we had had O'Bama's back in 2010. Two steps forwaed and one step back makes for a slow dance.

Good man, Bill. It's good to see someone who has money and knows what to do with it for the good of this Country. I never miss your show; all public discussion shows should be like yours. No bullshit. Brendan Loonam
