Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama step off Air Force One

Best frenemies is how Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have ended up after political battles and later reconciliation left them closer than ever.

President Obama insisted that Clinton accompany him off the plane in Asia on her last trip abroad with him.

Earlier the two had spent hours in Air Force One together, in his personal office talking about the old days and no doubt, the future.

The old days were tough for the twosome. They fought a bitter and nasty primary fight but then it was all kiss and make up as Hillary became his Secretary of State. She did a damn fine job too. She traveled endlessly, worked herself to the bone and the world was a safer place.

Obama knew he had hit the jackpot and left her to her own devices -- and it was the making of a very successful partnership.

Then, of course, there was the matter of her husband bailing out the Obama campaign at key moments in his presidential race against Mitt Romney.

Without that help in a close race it is doubtful he would have won.

So all is well that ends well as Hillary heads for retirement -- or does she?

I wonder what would have passed between them on that flight to Asia?

Barack will surely be asked three years from now when the New Hampshire hills loom again and the 2016 race gets underway as to who he will support.

He won't say openly but if Hillary decided can he really deny her?

That’s what frenemies are for after all. The kiss and make up is the best part.

My guess would be that Senators who served with Hillary would vote for her. But why would she be interested in the Supreme Court. If she wanted the Supreme Court seat, she could have had it.

Not that a wise person ever expects consistency from a "conservative," but by the statements and standards they have repeatedly expressed in the past, Republicans would have NO grounds to vote against the nomination of Hillary Clinton to the Supreme Court. I think EphriamKibbey has a wonderful idea and the Court would be far better for it! Do you suppose we can find a corporate fat cat fat enough to offer Clarence Thomas, Antonin Scalia or John Roberts a sinecure sweet enough to lure them OFF the Court?

If the President should nominate Mrs. Clinton to the Supreme Court, I wonder if the GOP Senators would give her a pass so that the party would not have to run against her in 2016? Just a thought!

One wonders what kind of extreme fascist agenda "PhlutiePhan" must be pushing to keep insisting these two admirable moderate leaders, who a majority of the country just affirmed in the success of their leadership, are ANY kind of "radical socialists"! Does he still lament that the wrong side won WWII? In any case, the record of former cabinet members leaving demanding government service - even service as well performed as Mrs. Clinton's State Department work - to seek the Presidency is not good. While Clinton WOULD have made a fine president, I will be very surprised if she seeks the office in 2016. I don't expect EITHER her or President Obama to genuinely leave government service and return to "big buck" private life the way Right Wingers would - their sense of obligation to the country is too great (Obama should be back in the Senate by 2018), but the Secretary of State's time as a presidential contender has passed. Don't under-estimate the excellent record of the Vice President - regardless of the contempt the know-nothing extremists of the "right" like to hold him in! This life-long Republican would certainly be willing to support him if my party can't come up with a realistic MODERATE contender to give us a serious chance next time - that task is made more difficult however after the last 12 years of radicals doing their best to drive the responsible members of our party out of office!

Hillary is waiting for the baton to be passed. She is more of a radical socialist than Obama will ever think of being. He has succinct racial motivation mixed with his radical socialist views. Hillary is just a radical socialist out to destroy the "opiate of the people".
