Catholic Church and Archbishop Dolan lose out badly in New York gay marriage defeat

The vote for gay marriage is a major setback for Archbishop Timothy Dolan and the Catholic Church in New York which fought the legislation tooth and nail.

However, it is clear that the church power has waned in the aftermath of the pedophile sex scandals which have plagued the church in recent years.

Irish finance minister will print t-shirts saying 'We're not Greece' - Novel way to show differences in economic crisis

The Irish Finance Minister Michael Noonan has come up with a unique way to disentangle Ireland from the Greek financial crisis.

He says he is considering he’s getting T-shirts printed that say “Ireland is not Greece” in an effort to distance Ireland from other debt-burdened nations.

“We won’t give them away, we’ll sell them,” Noonan said at an event in Dublin today. Monetary Fund.

The New York Times is reporting that Anthony Weiner is set to step down today bringing an end to his political career.

Washington Post legend David Broder once remarked that the one reaction politicians cannot survive is when people begin laughing at the mention of their name.

Remember the unfortunate Admiral Stockdale who ran as Ross Perot's running mate and became a staple of late nigh comedians because of his inability to handle the spotlight?

Media attempts to blacken Sarah Palin once again


The release of 24,000 e mails from Sarah Palin's time as governor of Alaska has created the kind of media frenzy that defies description.

The New York Times, Washington Post and major TV outlets rushed to Alaska and called for volunteers to scan each and every e-mail as if hidden treasure could be unearthed.

This was not Wikileaks or the Pentagon Papers or the Watergate files. This was the e mails of a governor of a very small state, politically speaking, one who just happened to end up as John McCain's running mate.
