| President of the United States Barack Obama |
Is Barack Obama already wimping out in his second term?
The news yesterday that Susan Rice was withdrawing her name for consideration as Secretary of State and the apparently inspired leak that former Republican Senator Chuck Hagel will be Secretary of Defence indicates so.
Whatever else Democrats have come to know, it is certain that Barack Obama is not someone you want to be in a foxhole with.
By turning his back on Susan Rice, an African American woman, and refusing to fight for her, he has sent a signal of clear weakness despite his handsome election victory.
By apparently anointing Chuck Hagel, who voted 78 per cent with his party as Secretary of Defense, Obama is playing roll over and having his tummy tickled by the good ol’ boys of the GOP.

Republicans will be laughing all the way to the bank with this one. Their nightmare scenario was opposing a black woman so soon after losing the black and minority vote by record levels in the election.
Not only will they not face that but they will also have one of their own ensconced in the key Department of Defense.
They will even have the milk and water, hopelessly defeated, presidential candidate John Kerry to kick around in the State Department. Joe Lieberman Mark Two anyone?
When it comes to fighting for his friends and those who delivered the White House to him, Barack Obama is already missing in action.

Hagel voted 78 per cent with the Republican Party, that is hardly the voting record of a moderate GOP member who could make a difference to this administration.
Obama has just once again reached out to calm the right wing opposition to him and ignored his own base who got him elected.

He is in deep danger of going down in history as Jimmy Carter-like in how wimpish he has become in office.
Instead of confronting his foes he wants to embrace them. They are far too clever for that, but they are perfectly willing to wait him out knowing that sooner or later he will capitulate as he did with Susan Rice.
This is not a promising start for this administration. See more: Right-wing Irish , Irish GOP

I can't thank you enough for all that you have done for me. About a year ago I my partner split up, we had both made BIG mistakes in our relationship. He ended up moving away from me to pursue a new life. I knew in my heart that he would be the only one to make me happy. I was relieved when I found your email on a site about what you have done. I requested 1 to 2 day casting of the reunite us love spell and within 3days mark company had relocated him back to our hometown where I still lived. We immediately reconnected and move in with each other. Our wedding date is set for Summer 2012. Expect to see your invite in the mail thanks to upesaspelltemple@gmail.com

Patrick Roberts reveals he knows little to nothing about the subject. Rice is a confidante of Obama's, but well known to be a flawed candidate for the Cabinet. Having Obama fall on the sword for a problematic candidate would be a stupid move that benefits no one, least of all him and his administration. Roberts should read the Wall Street Journal critique of Rice published a couple of weeks ago which reported on how badly she screwed up relations with Africa under Clinton, her area of responsibility at state, wherein her mucking up of negotiations between Ethiopia and Eritrea resulted in warfare that killed 100,000. Neither Obama nor the US needs a Secretary of State with that kind of bad judgment. Roberts, Obama is back in office, with four more years to enjoy, and he started off by sticking it to the Republicans on taxes. Your article smacks a great deal of "poor winner" syndrome. Learn something about your subject before you write about it.

Maybe Obama knows something that'd be revealed by Ms Rice's Congressional appearance that he doesn't want to become public. Obama is just folloing "Chicago Gangster" policy, which was layed down years ago by the Irish immigrant politicians in the Windy City.

Susan Rice was a diversion for the people kill at the embassy in Egypt. This artical is another diversion from the truth.
I remember Watergate. It took almost 2 years for the truth to come out.

John McCain took down a "radical thespian" on the world stage. Political reality was that she would have been blocked. A fight was doomed to fail. They had the votes to stop her. What would have happened to Ms. Rice at the Hanoi Hilton? She wouldn't have made it past the first week. McCain lived there without a conscierge for six years.

Susan Rice was vilified by the pathetic opportunist John McCain who's idea of a good candidate was the incompetent Sarah Palin another opportunist.Compare McCains record in the Naval academy to that of Ms Rice and you will soon see a very capable person was taken down by the dinosaurs in the GOP....That's the real story folks.

What the country needs is unity. I see both Republicians and Democrats buying Chinese goods in stores. Everybody needs to put their money where their mouth is! When I came to this country first I worked in a factory but that building is now a building made up of Condos where people sleep and not work. Sleep on America!

Amazing how this can be considered Obama's decision...nobody ,in their right mind would agree to have their name put forward ,given what has already been stated by the Republicans...she will catch up ,when the time is right..you do not want to give the mean spirited Republican party to have a field day ,while refusing to endorse this woman. They have not gotten over the fact that President Obama has been re-elected ....they are fully engaged in negative politics...not good to be a Republican supporter at this time...we all know what they are all about..by their deeds ye shall know them...

Might it be possible that Susan made the decision herself rather than have her family's millions in oil investments exposed at public hearings?
