Political correctness has finally gone too far in Britain.

Three children were removed from the care of foster parents in Britain after social workers discovered the couple were members of the right-wing Ukip political party.

The Irish Independent reports that the Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council that removed the children is to hold an investigation into the decision after the Labour-run authority came under condemnation from political leaders including Education Secretary Michael Gove and Labour leader Ed Miliband.

The three children, European migrants, were happy with the couple and there was no question over the care the foster parents were providing.

Roger Stone, the leader of the council, said:  "We are going to investigate to make sure everything has been done professionally.

"If the professionals give advice, we take it. We are going to investigate – we always would if somebody complains."

Mr Stone added: "We are looking to make sure all the correct procedures were carried out before the decision was made."

Michael Grove, who heads the government department responsible for children't services, said social workers had made "the wrong decision in the wrong way for the wrong reasons" and accused Rotherham of sending out a "dreadful signal."

"Rotherham's reasons for denying this family the chance to foster are indefensible. The ideology behind their decision is actively harmful to children.

"We should not allow considerations of ethnic or cultural background to prevent children being placed with loving and stable families."

Labour leader Ed Miliband said: "Being a member of Ukip should not be a bar to adopting or fostering children.

"We need an urgent investigation by Rotherham Council into the circumstances of this case.

"I don't know all the facts of this case but I am clear, what matters is children in Rotherham and elsewhere, and being a member of a political party like Ukip should not be a bar to fostering children."

The South Yorkshire foster parents have said that a social worker told them that the Ukip party was "racist" because it campaigns for tougher immigration controls.

Ukip leader Nigel Farage called for resignations and accused the council of bigotry, saying he felt "very upset and very angry, particularly for the couple involved, who have been fostering for many years and are very decent people, and the awful shock to them of having these children removed, not to mention the upset to the children themselves."

Joyce Thacker, the council's strategic director of children and young people's services, said the council decided to remove the children after consulting with lawyers.

When asked by BBC Breakfast what the issue was with the couple belonging to the Ukip party, she said, "We have to think about the clear statements on ending multiculturalism, for example."

Thacker added that there was no problem with the quality of care the foster parents provided and said she would co-operate with any investigation.

I hope so, this needs to be overturned See more: Right-wing Irish

I call it as I see it. If you wish to keep the blinders on that is your choice. The UKIP has a black candidate on it's website, so they can't be as evil as you depict them to be. I wouldn't say that WoundedKnee is not bright, you misspelled the word "because".
Wow such anger and hatred olovley! I thought Libs believed in love & peace? WoundedKnee did not mention Native Americans in his statement. So I will, those Native American Nazis! The USA has always been a multicultural society, The Native Americans did get screwed, I think they deserve a homeland of their own. That is another subject. White people may become extinct one day,
I had to read what UKIP stood for and it doesn't seem to be a genocidal driven, one world dictatorship wanting, hell bent on the indoctrination of the new hitler youth party. So it would seem that the liberals do not want their government programs used to raise at risk youth to be possibly conservative. So throw the children back in the system maybe with any luch they will be dependent on the state for life and tow the liberal line.
sully1167 you've obviously had the capacity to appreciate irony surgically removed. How for example is this phrase NOT racist: "Cultural Genocide ... is the deliberate attempt to destroy a culture through the mixing of other cultures." The MIXING OF CULTURES? Like the USA, you mean? OH NOES!!! That means white people will be DESTROYED!!! or something. You're a racist, like Woundedknee (who ironically references Native Americans, becuase he's not bright).
I am a Nationalist olovley, Not a racist, or a Nazi. Cultural Genocide, or a holocaust does not have to be violent. It is the deliberate attempt to destroy a culture through the mixing of other cultures. Think about it. You are obviously a Communist, because you do not believe in nationalities. By the way you called the UKIP Muslim bashing, gay bashing racists. Muslims do a lot of gay bashing themselves. Liberals like you always complain about western countries being racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Imperialistic. When those same faults happen in non-white third world countries Liberals/Leftists are always silent. If questioned about it, the left makes excuses for them. If you want to go live in a muslim country go ahead, but leave everyone else alone.
olovely: "only racists and neo-Nazis talk of 'Cultural Genocide"'. You're right. Like those horrible racist Chamorros in Guam, who want to keep their language and culture alive and are worried about the inroads of America. Or those racist Polynesians--why are they resisting the overrunning of their islands by French culture? They 're obviously neo-Nazis. Then there's the native Hawaiians. Like the Chamorros of Guam, they're concerned about their traditions and identity on their own islands being swept away by the tide of English language culture. They're racists too! Not to mention those Tibetans, they're worried about cultural genocide by China. Tibetan nazis! Oh, and I was in Wales a couple of years back. I saw a lot of neo-Nazis there too, they were speaking Welsh to each other instead of English like they ought. Damn Racists! Good thing that when I got to Ireland there was no one speaking Irish, the Irish are not racists! You're obviously Irish, olovely. It shows.
You have that exactly backwards sully1167. The UKIP party exists to stem other people's rights whilst protecting its own. But then, only racists and neo-Nazis talk of 'Cultural Genocide" so I'm not surprised that you and other posters here can't recognize that.
Typical left wing bias, liberals want to take away everyone elses rights. I agree WoundedKnee I wish Ireland had a BNP or a UKIP. A lot of people in Ireland are really getting fed up with the "Cultural Genocide" that is going on. I blame the Irish traitor politicians for letting it happen.
The UKIP are not the National Front they are anti Europe and essentially equivlalent to a right wing GOP base here.
It ill behooves any of us - from the right OR the left or anywhere in between - to comment on a case like this without knowing ALL the details, not just the spin from a columnist with an axe to grind. One may quietly ask oneself however if, in retrospect, we would have had a problem with a pre-pubescent Adolph Hitler being removed from a home where a father (who never legally did anything wrong) imbued him with the biases which would shape his later political career. Government officials have an obligation to oversee foster home placement and to do their best to ensure that those in their care have the best chance to benefit from loving homes. Mistakes will be made - and in general one hopes that decisions to remove a placement which seems successful on its surface would be done with caution and on a case by case basis and not SIMPLY on the basis of advocacy of any political party - but the extremism of the position of such a party would HAVE to be a factor in such decisions.
pardon me typo mistake in me last comment... I typed 's' instead of 't' in 'són'.
Something bothers me about this case… I think Rotherham Council were correct in removing the children on the side of caution. Remind me now… where have we heard of children being “groomed” for future abuse by fathers and mothers? It was a “potential event” that had to be nipped in the bud. So who was the really protective caring party here? - The UKIP parents or the Council? Methinks the Council - and I think Mr. Roberts’ final conclusion is coming from his 'són'.
Studies have shown that children do best when raised by xenophobic gay-bashing Muslim-bashing racists.
The poisonous hate expressed by the Rotherham bureaucrats, to the effect that those who call for a prudent and controlled immigration policy are thereby "racists', is actually the kind of bile that one sees in The Irish Times and which underpins the attitude of Fianna Fail and the other parties in Ireland.
Pilibo4: You're nothing but a sectarian and a racist. Why shouldn't Catholic children be fostered in a loving Protestant home? And vice versa?
