British writer Christopher Hart has hit back at U2 star Bono over his poem for Elvis Presley.
The poem, American David, which Bono is going to recite on Britain's BBC next week includes lines such as the following:
'Elvis the bumper stickers, Elvis the white knickers, Elvis the white nigger ate at
Burger King, And just kept getting bigger...'
Hart has written "Bono: Irish Twit," set to what he calls an 'atmospheric soundscape' of chanting leprechauns."
'Bono in your sunglasses, even when it rains, Bono in your private jet while the rest of us take trains, Bono with your tax affairs safely overseas, Bono, oh will you shut up, please.'
Oh dear. Wonder what will happen after Bono's actually recited the poem?
