Anti-immigrant groups wants Census data used to detect and deport illegal aliens

The anti-immigrant group Alipac is making a nasty effort to frighten undocumented immigrants from filling out the census forms.
At least that's the only conclusion I can draw from their calls for Census data to be used to detect and deport undocumented immigrants.
This flies in the face of eveything the Census is intended to achieve.
Which is a true and honest account of the population in the United States.
It doesn't matter whether or not you like the conclusions, the important thing is that an accurate measurement be taken.
But Alipac clearly doesn't like the way the U.S. is heading with an increasingly diverse population.
Their press release claims that "Illegal immigrants are being targeted with taxpayer funded ads
in Spanish encouraging them to fill out the Census, so they will get more taxpayer resources and have more political power."
Alipac claims that this amounts to "theft of representation from lawful Americans."
"We want Congress to take action now to authorize and require the use of census data collected to identify illegal aliens, exclude them from the census count for tax resources and Congressional redistricting, and to detain and deport those found in violation of our immigration laws," says spokesman William Gheen.
Alipac credits itself with stopping any efforts at immigration reform over the past five years.
They says they have 30,000 supporters nationwide while the pro-immigrant groups have tens of thousands more, if not hundreds of thousands more.
Be interesting to see what happens in the mid-terms in November.

Darn tootin' we're 'intolerant', Nova. NO ONE should tolerate alien invaders in their own land. But if you want illegals, you can have 'em (and everything that comes with them, too). It'll sure as hell keep their butts out of OUR country.

Why go to the US with all its problems and intolerance? Go to Canada or Australia, where there is a social safety net and Irish immigrants are welcome. Unemployment in the USA is much higher than Canada or Australia, and these countries are not trillions in debt.

as i see it the liberosi want "undocumenteds" made legal, to join and support the "party of choice" so they can maintain control.
1 illegal made legal=one more vote for the liberosi.
since 1727 all my german, irish and slovack ancestors came into this country the legal way and became citizens. so what's the problem with the current crop?

If your living in the U.S. and collecting any money from SS or medicare and your not a legal citizen then I say go home please. The U.S. needs to stop the free pay outs. We (citizens) that have paid into SS etc can't seem to get the help that the immigrents gets

Seems like a good idea to me. This is what the UK unions demanded in 2005, '06, '07 etc. Illegals in the USA are a serious problem. Unemployment rates are directly proportional to illegal infusion into the US workforce. Duh?

Interesting that you compare this one little group to all the pro immigrant groups. Why not compare all the anti ILLEGAL immigrant people to those who are pro ILLEGAL people?

Because being racist is the ONLY way anyone would possibly be concerned about illegal residents? get a clue.
Having said that, I'd rather have an accurate count, like you said, than use this to deport anybody.

That is a good observation IrishAndProud, words are powerful tools. To headline with "anti-immigrant group" is code for: racist/hoodwearing/cross burning/bigots. Watch news clips and you will see how "immigrants" are portrayed as peaceful widdle women and children. There is no focus on the large percentage of illegals who are in our prisons for violent crimes, bring the illegal drugs in and floods our labor and social welfare systems.

Kelly, why do you call people who oppose illegal aliens' presence 'anti-immigrant?' They're not anti-immigrant, they're anti-ILLEGAL ALIEN. Do you not even know the basic difference between a legitimate IMMIGRANT and an illegal ALIEN? I believe that you do, but deliberately use these two incompatible terms interchangeably so as to slander those who oppose you. And it doesn't work, kiddo.
