Sarah Palin in a stroke of symbolism makes strong impressions in Israel and India.
By: Ed Farnan | Published Wednesday, March 23, 2011, 9:50 PM | Updated Friday, September 9, 2011, 10:08 PM

During her recent trip, Sarah Palin declared to the Indian people and the world that "it's time for a woman to be president of the USA".
India is a great backdrop for the speech since it was the first major democracy to elect a woman as it's Prime Minister. Also and just as important, it stressed that Sarah Palin and her allies regard India as a first tier friend.
After her speech she fielded many questions from the Indian press and answered their questions in a "direct and forthright way". Asked why Obama won, she quipped "I wasn't at the top of the ticket, remember?
Then to reinforce her symbolism, Sarah and her husband Todd flew to Israel, another great democracy and firm ally of the United States. They stayed with the popular Conservative Prime Minister, Bebe Netanyahu and his wife Sara.
During their stay in Jerusalem, they toured a few of the historical sites with MK Dannon who said, paraphrasing: "When we toured near the Kotel and in the tunnels near the Holy of Holies, Governor Palin told me "clear things without hesitating". " She asked why do we apologize to the Muslims? She understands the importance of the place for the Jewish People, there is great support and I felt it in the tour yesterday."
Israel, the only real representative democracy in the middle east, is where the first woman Prime Minister in that part of the world was elected, their beloved Golda Meir. She was their guiding light and firm captain as she inspired the country through it's early days of conflict and triumph. The vow of "never again" still freshly burned in her soul.
In this short trip Governor Palin was able to accomplish much. She visited and made strong bonds with two of the worlds greatest democracies, who the Obama administration seems to be pushing aside. She also set the stage for America to elect a new President....Whoever she may be.

Palestine has a full democracy, just you didn't get the result you wanted so you threw your toys out of the pram. Israel is an oppressive state, it's made refugess and prisoners of millions of people. It's a shame the state ever came into being. It wasn't the resposibility of the Palestinians to fix a European problem of anti-semitisim.

Sorry Lad, I thought the technology had reached you by now...Double wide is 2 single wide trailers put together. It makes a much spacier abode and the doors can be wider too. Hope this helps.

I'm worried about some bloggers on this site.I think they have a nude poster of their pin-up girl "has been Sarah" stuck on the back of their trailer door(that's if the door is big enough).

Funny, I hear the smears towards Palin, but nothing specific, just a generalizations. Could it be you hate her cause she's beautiful?

Nick O'hara has a handle on Ms. Milquestoast. To have her say she was not on the top of the ticket speaks volumes. She never was or ever will be on any ticket other than the money-go-round.

Lad if you are an arab living in Israel you are an Israeli citizen with full voting rights and full citizenship privileges. Can you say the same for any muslim country in the middle east that non muslims have the same rights as muslims?...didn't think so.

"Representative democracy" try telling that to the millions of Arabs living in the terrorist state of Israel where killing Palestinian children is a well known past time of the IDF.Shaking hands with netanyahoo is akin to shaking hands with the devil.Farnan has no concept of justice or respect.

Very good post from Mr. Farnan. Sarah Palin does inspire devotion & instill confidence. She is pretty, popular, & politically powerful.

"the only real representative democracy in the middle east". The same old cliched propaganda--=how about inventing a new line, farnan? You can't be a democracy if you enslave millions of people, abuse them, and often murder them. The four kids the Israelis killed while they were playing football this week must have felt honored to be slain by "the only real representative democracy in the middle east". Second, there were democratic elections held in Palestine mahybe 4 or 5 years back. Guess what? The US, Israel, France etc., (the same old suspects) didn't like the election result, so they connived to start a civil war and break apart the administrations in the two parts of Palestine.

Is she still around? Last I heard she was fading rapidly in the polls. The only thing keeping her candidacy viable is that the Republicans don't have anyone else who can beat Obama.
While it makes journalistic sense to cover Sarah Palin as if she were still a national figure, it's not politically realistic. She doesn't have the gravitas to be elected; indeed, the only way she'll even be nominated is if the other Republicans running completely destroy each other. However, I don't see her winning out against Romney, Gingrich, Pawlenty or even Huckabee. Palin's good for comic relief on Saturday Nite Live; there's not much else beyond jokes about moose stew.

Yes, I agree it's time for a "real" women to be president of the United States, certainly not one who walked away from elected office, makes a name for herself by demeaning her political opponents and worst of all uses her children as campaign trail props. She will never run. Mrs. Palin is enjoying playing "the game" far to much to give it all up and attempt to truly tackle the problems facing our country.
